In my opinion fetish sycophants are better than actually using the skill as they last for 60 seconds.And spamming free toads without any restriction is going to help you summon them at a really fast pace.And they are more useful than zombie dogs,as they deal 20% weapon dmg compared to the zombie dog's 9%.

3% is really low. After 20 throws of toads you still are only roughly at 45% of getting a fetish.
It takes a passive instead of a skill. Having 5 skills and 3 passives is better than having 6 skills and 2 passives I think, probably depends on the build.
That said we dont know how strong the fetishes will be, perhaps they will do much damage which means the passive is viable.
You're obviously right in that we don't know how strong fetishes will turn out to be. I think this is an interesting idea to explore IF you can come up with a build that justifies damage throughput of using mostly physical realm spam anyway.
Spamming for a full minute at 1.4 APS (average ritual dagger base speed) you have 84 chances to proc.
In one minute of spamming, you have
- a 92% chance of gaining 1 Fetish
- a 85% chance of gaining 2 fetishes
- a 78% chance of gaining 3 fetishes
- a 72% chance of gaining 4 fetishes
Assuming there is no internal cooldown or limit on the number of active fetishes, that's an interesting proposition.

I grew up gaming without internet forums. The entire phenomenon of being upset with a game developer makes no sense to me. No sense. I cannot imagine spending my time and energy being upset about something I choose to do for recreation.
dagger fetishes hit for 20% weapon dmg. no clue how hardy they are though.
also i dont think its fair to say one will be casting for a minute str8 except vs bosses. most rooms seem to get cleared in seconds. even in d2, rooms could be cleared relatively quickly on hell difficulty. With all the start/stopping casts as well as fetish mortality rates, id assume to have 1-3 fetishes active at a time with its current proc rate.
