It seems every patch they just nerf it more and more. They were beating a dead horse the past few patches, now in patch 15 they buried it and commenced pissing on its grave.

maybe end game it was uber OP. Nerfs happen for a reason, just because you can't see internal testing, doesn't mean its been necessarily nerfed, just... balanced.
jesus christ ... think about this... its the most spammable AOE skill in game... It also has range (cleave doesn't)... and can be thrown over obstacles (due to the arc).
The adjustments to the WD mana costs have been made to fall more in line with the skill categories. So a player will have a primary spell that they can spam and then a secondary damage spell that would likely cost too much mana to spam but does more damage and perhaps has more effective runes.
It's pretty evident in the mana changes across the board. I think it's a good change because it makes more sense for the class to have multiple offensive abilities, rather than choosing 1 out of like 10 different ones. Although, some of the abilities you could say are at medium mana cost, which you wouldn't need another spell to go with.
But yeah... firebomb won't be that great, but if you're pairing it with something like firebats for example, you'll need it because it's unlikely you'll have enough mana to use firebats all the time unless you plan on just standing around and meleeing when you run out of mana.

Even in its current iteration, it has the possibility to deal 255% weapon damage per cast with the double bounce rune, still a pretty nice deal for 10 mana
Meh I am guessing it bounces in a line and the chances it actually hits anything on the other bounces is low. Otherwise that rune is far too good compared to the others.

Yea we basically have signature spells now. Makes sense to me. Its annoying to be out of mana and just sitting there waiting for it to regen. Every other class can always use a skill attack of some sort.
