Lack of int stat based items

  • #1
Is it just me? Because I haven't found 1 piece of gear with int (intelligence) on it in the beta. I found dex but no int. Possibly I just have crappy luck with drops?

try crafting a bunch. ive got a helm with 10 int on it. some legs chest shoulders and weapon all with int on it too. :)

Oh sweet thanks! Also, I think it's been covered, but correct me if I'm wrong. Int doesn't increase the damage of our spells, but also of our summons too correct?

it was pretty funny testing it though. because i have pretty good DPS and a pretty nifty weapon and my dogs only do 2-3 dmg. lol. and then i put on some int gear and they did 3-4 dmg. even with a dmg rune the dogs seem so useless dmg wise without the passive that gives them your thorn dmg. i was able to get 70 thorn dmg on gear in the beta. too bad you dont get the fierce loyalty passive until like 27. but if you can get 70 thorn dmg at lvl 13 in the beta then by 27 you should be able to get a couple hundred max probably so each enemy will be one shotted when they attack any of your dogs or gargantuan lol or even you xD

Yea, I think we're suppose to use the WD's pets for distractions while we cast from afar. Rather than a source of dps.

true like jay said. but i still think a thorny pet build is very much viable since you can stack so much thorn dmg. itll be 10x better then a barb or monk thorny build because every single pet and yourself have all the same thorn dmg so you wont be mauled by all the mobs at once itll be all spread out so your dogs can kill mobs way all over the screen with thorns VS. monk/barb has to be right next to each target.

I think that the reason that the dogs were nerfed so much was this very reason, they don't want us stacking so much thorn damage that it means we are killing stuff just because it attacks our dogs or us. But that's just an educated guess, other than them wanting us to use them more for CC type of things then for damage it makes sense.

huh? im sorry i dont quite understand. you think they nerfed the base dmg of the dogs by 6% because they DONT want us stacking thorn dmg? huh? the thorn dmg passive wasnt nerfed and is still viable. what does thorn dmg have to do with their base attack dmg?

I assume he meant that the development team has their eye on how much total damage output a pet should have, and they had a choice to either nerf pet damage or nerf thorns damage, and they picked pet damage.

oh. lol. well either way thorn dmg can be stacked to much MUCH higher then their measly 15% could've ever done. in the beta i stacked 70 thorn dmg and thats still 5-10 away from absolute max on lvl 12 gear. which one shots even the stronger mobs in the beta near the end. so once you get that passive at 27 and if you got a couple hundred thorn dmg each of your pets will be able to 1 shot any mobs that touches it. it will be amazing ez mode to level with

What type of weapon did you find for your WD with int on it?

the lvl 12 1 handed axe you craft. it has a chance to get high attributes of all types. mine has 24 int on it. that might take you awhile of crafting to get that high though since its random.
