Just wondering what people think about it (mainly people who intend on playing with sacrifice upon release).
A lot of people assume that sacrifice won't be that great before the rank 7 alabaster rune but I disagree. I think its effectiveness will stay pretty consistent throughout the game. With this build, sacrifice obviously does a huge portion of your damage but it's not really your main attack because you can only use it a few times before you run out of dogs (judging from calculations I've made and the ones other people have done). I think that's how the spell is intended to be used because by the time you have the rank 7 rune, even spamming sacrifice for like 8sec or whatever it is, won't be enough to kill things in inferno.
The main problem I see with this build is single targets (particularly bosses). If the bosses in D3 don't spawn a lot of adds you can kill to spawn new dogs, you'll have to rely on the damage from your 4 dogs, your mercenary, and the number of explosive dogs you can cast before you run out of mana. Since you need globes (from dead monsters / dogs) to get mana back it might difficult (or just really slow) to kill bosses without a way to get globes back.
Anyways... that's the build I'm going with at the moment.
Interesting, I havent notice such possibilities by building like this. The witch doctor is sure going to be fun to play with.
Might be a strong aoe build after all. You may build up dogs so fast with this that may overlaps your dogs tho.
If you use sacrifice with the buff big bad voodoo while them being confused you may proc 5-6dogs at once if that sacrifice manage to kill a group. But it sounds the equivalent of corpse explosion from the necromancian version. You kill someone to give you the ability to re-kill another next to him.
