Although the WD looks extremely sweet:D I really hope he doesn't replace any of the current characters.. except for maybe the druid:rolleyes:... never really liked him... but anyways as long as i have
my mage class (sorceror/sorceress) i could care less what other classes there are
I prefer the necromancer myself but as long as the witch doctor has some cool stuff I can live with him. I still think there isn't anything quite as wicked as having an army of undead come to your command. I wish they would have toned down the flamboyant purple feather look. When I saw that I thought dear God that is artist formerly known as prince after he gets really really old. I'm sure though they will have other get ups for him.
I also didn't really care for the witch doctors critters, at least I didn't identify with them. If he's a witch doctor then he should be raising an army of zombies (and not just a wall of them as an attack) that follow you around all over and do your bidding, now that would be cool.
The entire idea of the Witch Doctor is fresh, unique, and well played. All the skills that I have seen so far are just, wow. I don't play such classes, but I would just love to have a Witch Doctor in my party, where he'd provide much needed support. We need something different than the ol' "I'm a badass with my deep voice, really dark, contemporary, and seen so very often everything, so try to act surprised, while I'm mainly the same deal as you've seen so many times before in so many different games/movies/whatever". It's a fresh change, embrace it.
No, but he -is- very Warcraft-Jungle Troll-Like. I'd be both happy and sad if he doesn't have a jamaican accent; Sad because I lost 10 bucks, but incredibly happy because.. well.. he doesn't have an jamaican accent!
I honestly doubt the WD will have a jamaican accent. The troll's accent in Warcraft is much more of a comically absurd type of thing, which is not a style to be found anywhere in Diablo. It's not like the Barbarian had a wacky german accent, or that the sorceress had a persian accent. Now granted that there seems to be more of a focus on cultural involvement in D3, we still are missing the crazy german accent in our good 'ole barb, and if there IS any accent to the WD, then it will be a much less absurd/comical/wacky thing than that of the Troll, and probably nowhere near Jamaican.
If you remember the WD's casting animation for his undead mongrel things, you could hear him chanting in a language akin to some African languages, but NOT Jamaican.
I don't care what anybnody says the witch doctor look freakin sick and he is going to be the first character i chose no matter what the other characters have to offer. i mean i saw the video of the witch doctor summoning minions and then cast locust sworms on them, that looks amazing. i never thought blizzard would think of adding this option. so who ever is dissin the witch doctor go get ur head check cuz he looks crazy good.
the WD seems like a cool char. i like the idea of a savage tribal char. maybe its just me but he seems a little underpowered at the moment though.
my biggest negative with him is the wall of zombies. obviously its not going to kill every monster that touches it in actual gameplay, so id like to see exactly how that would work out. it also seems a little strange to me. i think instead of a wall of zombies, just make a bunch of hands burst though the ground and hack and slash in a FoA...idk

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)
The Which Doctor does look pretty bad ass. I'm hoping he's not going to replace the Necro like everyone is saying though. If he does, then I hope he has a Bone Cage spell so I can still trap nubs while they're getting gang banged by massive cows in the Cow Level. Of course, this is assuming there will even be a Cow Level.
i know this is off topic but when i watched the WD clip i paused during it when hits cursor was over the WD
zombie wall and the damage was 14 and the skill level was 3 just a interesting tidbit

I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this, but after watching the gameplay video for like the 5ifth time I did.
During the final boss fight I payed close attention to the female witchdoctor to see if I could see any new spells. And she imbues her pet (the zombie thing, I forgot the name) with fire! It looked like a fire golem but it was still the same shape and walked the same way as it did before.
Did anyone else notice when they did the zombie wall spell every single monster ran into it like it was free candy. I wonder if it will always do that or if you will have to cast it last minute when enemies are running towards you?
Watching the gameplay footage, during the siegbreaker battle at the end of the video It appears as if the WD's mongrel has been enchanted with ice by one of the barbarians. Anyone else notice this?
