What do you think the difference between the two will be? Looking at the traits it seems like they will have a bigger role that i previously thought. Since they are not a physical damage dealer why will it matter? what do ya think?

It will matter because items will now have +spell damage modifier. Also, a big difference is using a shield or not. I think I plan on trying to go dagger/shield if there are no cool scythe looking weapons.

Depending on the mods given by shields, I may end up going with a Dagger/Off-hand. Since I'm looking to PvP, I may just end up using Dagger/Shield, and stacking Vitality. I'm not sure yet. We really have to wait to see (:.

THis trait exist to opne some doors in terms of crazy build creation.
One thing to remenber is that Spell Damage and Attack Damage are now the same Stat named "Attack" (assuming the stat systen did not change).
So if you stack alot of spell damage a fraction of this dmg will go to your normal attacks. So the WD hits might not be so weak when using a dagger and the right traits. Surely not strong enough to be his main attack but people might find a good way to use it. It might help you when you ran out of mana in pvp, for example.

This has to most certainly be the case. A major Diablo II design concept was the ability for anyone to drop their offensive power (2 hand) and increase their defense via a shield (off hand).
