Dumb thread name aside, I will more the likely be setting up a new guide for witchdoctors using the spider set post ptr as adjustments will more then likely take place. heres what im at thus far
kanais cube passives > cindercoat, ess, and scourge
this makes more sense at the end of build so bare with me. the idea so far is to get 5p spider set with rorg and unity or soj(even convention) and a grin reaper helm. the grins can cast firebats when you do and cindercoat with regen passive and blood rit(on a much easier to get hellfire) plus pierce gives you indefinite channel time on firebats(cloud) without having to drain too much resource when you spot move. weapon and mojo so far isna no idea but im leaning rhenho and uhk for better cc and survivability. sub optimal gear and missing ess and cinder passives this build is performing t8. expect a video tonight or tomorrow.
any thoughts/ additions /improvements?

The multiple spider queens isn't a bug. every time you attack you have a chance to resummon the mimics, because the item has no internal cooldown, so each new mimic summoned can summon additional spider queens that don't count as the initial spider queen they summoned as they count as entirely different entities. so effectively the build is limited by how many times you can pop mimics. As far as I know, the firebats are working as intended on mimics and producing damage but enemies caught in crossfire don't take additional ticks of damage(just from one firebats at a time), which I'm sure is what your talking about. currently when scourge is equipped you get the bonus from scourge passive to proc on mimics but when equipped through kanai's it doesn't proc on mimics. I believe this is a bug that would believe me to believe that kanai's isn't properly interacting with(all) pets.
But doesnt channeling mean you have to stand still? T8 meaning GR 35 is weak and you will probably get 1shot at higher tiers But i hope you figure sth out, as i will FINALLY role for a WD next season!
it does but that's what the ess is for. also the massive amount of rcr
and resource regeneration helps the build stay on top of resource and
the coils help firebats relatively huge proc coefficient to heal you
quite a bit. unity makes the torment capability jump quite a bit as the
damage is all there.
edit* also toad of hugeness gives quite a bit of toughness and I use lifelink dogs with an uhk atm so dying doesn't happen to often.
Is Manajuma's way beneficial in any way for burst aoe and speed farming. 500% and a seperate 100% multipler on top of the base 1350% weapon damage if you go poison. I do like the additive damage on the Spider queen dagger for spider spam though.
taeguk lvl 25 jumped me quite a ways. the proc coefficient for cloud of bats was pretty heavily nerfed. may use furnace passive instead for more damage(not sure yet), however everything else is working great. can confirm this build is ez clears.
Just wanted to jump in here quickly. Been testing the set on PTR. Angry chicken does spawn the toad. It spawns where ever your cursor is when you change into the chicken.
This is everything I know about the Grin Reaper and mimics on live. you can only summon two mimics that can only cast a finite list of skills and firebats are not on that list. as far as spider queen goes, WD has a cap of 1, while the mimics do not, hence they spam multiple spider queens for the duration they are out. there is no internal coodown on the Grin Reaper but the spawning of mimics is based on chance and the number of attacks you do, which is why firebats is a fantastic skill, channel greatly increases your chances of spawning mimics. the mimics damage is calculated using the minimum weapon damage you have; IE if you weapon dmg range is 1500-1900, it'll always use 1500; basically they do about ~80% of your dmg. mimics count as pets and gain all buffs pets can from any source, ie "+ele dmg" or enforcer gem or zuni 6p pet dmg; they DO NOT gain +%skill dmg, ie "+%corpse spider" like from simplicity's strength gem.
WD's did have a similar situation with Carnevil. Prior to patch 2.1, Carnevil did not benifit from "+%poison dart dmg", but with 2.1 and the release of dagger of darts, it was changed to benefit. so here's to hoping that in 2.3, they will change the mechanics of Grin Reaper to benefit from "+% skill dmg" on skills mimics are able to cast; hence able to benefit from "+% corpse spider damage" and simplicity's strength.
incidentally the kanai passive of scrouge is probably not working with mimics since pets generally can't proc weapon effects.
edit: the damage the mimics' spider can do is only during the duration of the mimics. for example I cast an attack and spawn mimics. mimics cast multiple spider queens that do roughly 80% of my own spider queen minus damage buff from "+% corpse spider dmg". once the mimics that cast those specific spider queens despawn the existing spider queens do basically weapon swing dmg, ie down to white dmg of around 200,000 and will not regain dmg gains from newly spawned mimics. so any boost to damage from mimics will only be during the 7-8 seconds a pair of mimics spawn which with firebats is roughly 1-2 seconds.
so to the OP, my question is this: Do you notice Grin Reaper mimics gaining the 6p Spirit of Arachyr bonus to corpse spiders or plague of toads?
they do do pot and corpse spider damage increase yes, much in the same way they interact with rhenho bonus,and they do in fact cast firebats, but unfortunately their interaction with said skill is linked to when you cast it, and its completely aesthetic(which causes them to stop what theyre doing to fb). and the mimics aren't pets nor do they calculate as pet damage, they're mimics. they're literally carbon copies of your character down to buffs at time of cast. The spiders the mimics spawn are based on number of mimics spawned. every time you attack or cast there is a chance the mimics are to be resummoned, and for each new summon a new spiderqueen can be spawned(the former spider queens wouldn't despawn because each new mimic is a summoned entity that overwrites the original.). all damage done from the queens is done in dot form, the attack animation is aesthetic. kanais procs are not currently effecting the mimics in any way, this is also assumed to be a bug, and example of this is i found mimics don't benefit from rhenho flayer in kanais, but do when equipped.

In 2.2, when the grin reaper clones caste cloud of bats, it doesn't do damage. It is cosmetic only.
I don't know if they has been changed in 2.3.
In 2.2 there is a bug where reaper clones caste multiple Spider Queens (the WD can only caste 1).
I've had 15+ spider queens on screen at the same time (in 2.2).
If it works same way in 2.3 and the reaper clone spider queens get the set bonus, then it might be powerful.

the damage from chicken poke is less then the damage from scourge proc and you dont get toad when you cast angry chicken so nope.
