Ok, Im fairly new to the whole Diablo world. I just hit 70 with my Witch Doctor and Ive found a build I like to play with. My question is regarding gear. Is gear drop totally and completely in the hands of RNGezus or is there a way to farm particular pieces of gear? Also, what is a good gauge to know when to move onto the next torment?
Sorry these are such basic questions, I just haven't been able to find answers anywhere. Also, if someone could point me towards a decent Diablo online resource, I would absolutely appreciate it, Thank you kindly.
While there are a couple of specific exceptions (Reapers Wraps recipe for example) all drops are RNG.
In terms of when you are good for the next level I use the following rule of thumb. If I can complete a rift going at my normal pace (i.e. not racing for a time) in 10 minutes or less than I'm ok for that level. If I can do it in less than 5-6 minutes then I test the next higher difficulty. Sometimes you can kill fast enough but are often dying. In those cases you may consider moving down a difficulty until your toughness is better.
Look at your gear and use Kadala to improve your worst slots. Weapons and Jewelry should be done later because of the cost.
No other way to farm other than crafting. For WD Utar's Roar is good to craft because it's cold. A lot of buids are cold. Augilds is a good set to craft.
Ring of Royal Grandeur is farmed by completing all bounties in Act 1.
I'm using a new Homonc, it's pretty good and firing off the doggie damage into packs of mobs is a nice pop on top of 2pc Zuni and SMK, with Provoke the Pack it's another nice bonus. I also use Haunt & Bane of the Trapped to try and stack on the bonuses.
I would not use Sac if I was going to use TMF. My live WD uses Zuni 4pc / TMF and the dog hits like a truck. I'd keep that instead of Sacrifice.
