Gear is correct but it says different numbers, for example my dex is really 7541 and damage is just over 900K.
Would love help, so far i can do GR 29-30 but i tried 33 and didnt even get close to finishing on time. To get on the leaderboards for solo monk I need to do riff 35 in time, how does one do this?! what can i re-roll or what items should I be looking for. All advice is appreciated

I'm not that familiar with the current monk build, as I do not really like the playstyle. However, your question has the answer in it: get more damage.
As there is a factor of RNG in grifts, keep playing until you get a good grift, it does help (as an example: yesterday I used a lvl30 key I had left for my monk that I didn't play for a long time. While only just finishing the 30 and 31 with a few seconds left, I did finish the 32 in only 10min10sec, jumping me to 34. This is same char, same gear, and still a huge difference in clear time).
For your damage: not sure if the 6.5m thoughness i see is correct, but I would assume it is more. Then you can get gloves with CD instead of vit, WH/hellcat/fleeting strap instead of string of ears, get holy dmg on your bracers and dex on your rorg, drop the armor from your amu for socket or holy dmg.
You can make up a bit of the lost toughness by adding armor and movementspeed (aka 24*5dex from paragon) on your boots, get pants with secondary res, replacing all res for armor, get elite damage reduction as a primary on chest, melee or ranged damage reduction as secondary on chest and bracers (1 on each, other secondary being single res roll).
Try to split your single res rolls and get them on all possible items. Shoulders always have all res sadly (why blizzard, they are for a monk...), but gloves, helm, unity ring and as said before pants can have it.
For the dropped loh from bracers and rorg, will be harder to fix. Personally I want with life per spirit spend on my help, getting a 20k loh roll on weapon. In a perfect world, you would have both on your weapon, dropping the sweeping wind damage you got on it (used as spirit regen and dump more than damage dealer anyway).
I saw somewhere that D3 was the 3rd most played game or something like that last month. Trying to work your way into the top 1000 (leaderboard) will require near perfect gear, so a lot of grinding, and a good amount of luck with the grifts layout/density/mob types. No matter how skilled you actually are, it's only a part of it to be better than the millions of other players out there.
thanks so much for the great reply, im doing what i can now, my toughness was at 12 mill not 6.5, but im currently re-rolling things now to gain more damage and try and minimise toughness lost. I just need to try and get better rolls of gear, but for the past few weeks my legendary drop rate feels a lot lower
You're welcome, good luck with the farming/rerolling and your quest for the leaderboard.
As for the feeling of lower drop rates: I think it's mentally. While i felt the same, I ended up with about the same amount of forgotten souls. I didn't keep track of the set items/normal legendaries, a big part of this feeling might come from replacing "nothing" with "something" at the start, while now you have to replace "something" with "something better", showing less upgrades, leading you/us to conclude the drops got worse.
To actually proove/disproove this, someone would have to start from zero (other region maybe?) and keep track of his progression. Or wait until next season
Oh, 1 more thing I was looking so hard at your items that I totally forgot about gems. You miss 300 dex in chest/pants (I'd guess 3-4% damage and some toughness), and 5% crit damage (seeing you only have it on amu and gem, maybe paragon, I'd say another 1.5-2% damage).
Looking even further: take the amulet off your enchantress and roll holy damage on it, it's better than the one you are using.
I would consider using the templar as follower, as his stuns and heals are really useful on high levels. And to max out followers: their crit damage is capped at 150% (they have 50% by default, and you can have 100% on their token). So you want mainstat/crit chance/attackspeed/cooldown on their rings and amulet. Also try to use "proc items" on them, thinking about the overwhelming desire amulet from act 3 bounties, thunderfury or azurewrath for extra crowd control on the templar, Defender of Westmarch or Freeze of Deflection shield, nagelring/hellfire ring/leoric's signet/wyrdward if the weapon is lightning damage/bul-kathos wedding band/justice lantern with the freeze shield/band of hollow whispers/oculus ring for full 16% attackspeed procing other things faster. Make that follower do as much as possible for you
Finish full Flawless Royals. A decent Witching Hour is obviously a huge upgrade. You need a similar damage range Flying Dragon with 10% damage (you're missing ~340 weapon damage or so), while also getting either LPSS or LoH on it.
A good Sunwuko Amulet + Eye of Peshkov is a better setup than Blackthornes, but a lot harder to get. You need Crit Damage on gloves. A new Sunwuko Helmet with a resist is a decent upgrade.
You want 11% elite damage reduction on your chest, along with %damage reduction from melee/ranged as a secondary with a resist. You also want %damage reduction as a secondary on your bracers. You should have rolled the LoH on your RoRG to CHC or CHD, though it's too late to fix that one now. Your Blackthorne boots need to not have LTK damage.
Generally, Agility is a better rune for Mantra of Salvation. Dear God please change your Way of the Hundred Fists rune to Fists of Fury. Templar is better than Enchantress, because he gives you a permanent 1.1x modifier on spirit gen (Assuming you have a Cannot Die relic for him, if not, pray you get one soon.
Maddin, if you want a full post, it is not nice to hijack a topic. Easy enough to make your own post.
But ok, here it goes:
- 1 of the most powerful things on a monk was One With Everything. It's nerfed a bit and renamed Harmony now, but it makes no sence not using that skill. With only 4 primary rolls on items, having your all res in a secondary is HUGE. Try to get 6 pieces with as close to 160 for each type of res, and then 1 or 2 more for bad stuff like lightning or fire.
- With your all res being fixed, get elite dmg reduction on your chest, with dex/vit/3 sockets/secondary res/melee or ranged damage reduction. Put the other (melee or ranged) on your bracers, with cc/dex/vit/holy%/second res. Not sure about vit and all res on rings, those are are damage slots, and again, you want secondary res on them. Same for pants, res to secondary. If you want to use depthdiggers for the damage boost, you can roll way of the hundred fist damage on it. However, that's not the main dmg dealer, and I prefer BT over them, not saying it's better. Ice climbers are nice, but I'd pick BT again, dex/vit/armor/movementspeed/secondary res. Helm needs bit as you mentioned. Shoulders need vit instead of life%.
- Nice gloves, but I would consider rolling cooldown into attackspeed, as you got the eye. I would go for a belt with attackspeed(WH if possible, hellcat or craft fleeting), but the cooldown can help for epiphany. Amu is pretty nice, try to get max roll on CC or even consider Holy damage (after putting CC on rings). Weapon could do with higher damage roll, good luck gambling for one :). Keep ranking your legendary gems, as the damage increase if huge (for mirinae).
As for your question on group play: I'm afraid this is not the build you want. Get yourself a perma serenity monk for that. In non of the top groups you will find a melee damage char, as you have to stack too much toughness/dropping dps doing so to survive in melee range. Since unity doubles your toughness, there's just no way (that I and many others can think off). So solo dps, party tank/buff build.
Good luck and have fun.
PS: use desert rune on epiphany for extra toughness.
yeah no worries guys if it helps more people than just me im fine with that!
just pointing out, i know i need to put better gems in i just dont have enough to put flawless royals in yet, as for the follower, i want to use the templar but i dont have the relic that makes him unkillable
I have a fairly well rolled eye of peshkov and just decided to use blackthorns set bonus so i could "stay in the action" for longer.
THANKS AGAIN for the great in depth replies boys, feel free to add me and we can farm together
