Just messing around the bells again since dropping them in vanilla. For some reason I had bane of the trapped socketed in so losing quite a bit of damage potential there. Netting about 10-11 min avg full clear time in T6. Damage capped out at about 30 GR with my gearset, maybe someone with better gear can squeeze to 31-32 without gems.
Think of the potential if the simply buffed it empowered wave by 1.5-2x it's damage. Bells for days with heals for dayssssss
Edit: Uploading full clip, should be up in like an hr or so.
What about CDR, you need a lot to have perma epiphany.
I've done this since the last patch in which they buffed regeneration, you dont need epiphany. Incense torch + 30+ spirit regen means unlimited bells without epiphany. The damage is still ok at best though even with sunwukos. They sped up the attack animation of bells and made bells do all there damage at once with this current patch so its a bit better.
If you plan to use Spam WoL with a a FD, don't think there is way to upkeep spirit without a generator. LTK on the other hand is a bit more manageable.
nice as always mr. scrapz, makes kind of fun to play, though still a bit clunky because of (still) weak WoL.
about the build itself, for me personally there's no reason to play with torch, because SWK lives from spirit and spending as much spirit as possible in short time, therefore cost reduction is counterproductive.
i tried a more defensive version, with 6th sense, transcendence, ytar and guardian's as passives and mantra of salvation: perserverance as mantra. also i kind of like CW:RT over FoF, makes mobs a bit more handy. used Captain set instead of cains for boots+pants, like the bit of CDR and AR more than 8% ias. maybe i'll give aughild's also a try as the chest + bracers with BT's pants+boots because sometimes the elite affixes seem to be quite bashing though. but spamming WoL + MoS is quite balanced for offense+defense, imo.
hopefully WoL gets some more love in future builds, so that nirvana could make a come back maybe
@Bhally
sounds not bad, but for this to work, they have to put %holy on SWK's amulet as fixed affix (ffs, do it finally, Blizz !), making the amulet actually used
when using torch i would suggest also taking the physical rune of WoL for permastun, because u only will proc very few with the massively reduced cost. also putting it on left click so that an additional skill can be used instead, when playing without generator

I was doing that but since they increased the "attack speed" of WoL by 33% I couldn't maintain the spirit cost of perma casting it. Hence the generator. I *could* use additional spirit generation via passives, but would sacrifice too much for it. Same logic applies to gear.
i think new epiphany rune would do the trick, costing only 1 skill slot which you had free removing the generator. with templar + gardian passive you get about ~70 spirit/s from insight rune
Once you're able to keep your spirit refilled, there is no reason to ever use a intense torch. The thing with FD is it works of attacks, not proc chance. The faster you attack, the more chances you have to proc it which works out great with the Swiftness gem. By gathering a large group of enemies and killing them off, each time a enemy dies it has a chance to drop globes with syerngizes with reaper wraps.
In the end it comes down to this. Dropping 3-4 bells per second with a FD and refilling your spirit super fast since FD's proc is active or dropping 1-2 bells per second with Intense Torch and always having your spirit bar full.. Over a course of a run time, you're probably dropping 100-200% more bells while being able to sustain spirit with a a generator.
I've also tried a Physical "stun" build, but the damage doesn't seem to be high enough since you are trying to buff 2 elements. One physical skill I do like in higher GR is WoTh: Assimilation, I feel like LOTS of monks are overlooking this skill. 5% dmg for each enemy tagged, you can easily tag 8 enemies in GR 30+, that 40% more damage for 5 seconds.. As of now, I can't decide which one I liek better, Assimilation of Fist of Fury. Higher chance to proc Swiftness vs 20-40% dmg for 5 secs...
hm ok i thought it would need a proc C for swiftness. tried some runs also with FoF and it really procced a bit more often. maybe i take the time to find a RoRG with a socket for the gem ...
i also prefere spamming the sh!t out of bells with a FD on drugs than falling asleep with torch. i really think torch might only find its use with the physical stun rune of WoL. Also didnt have probs with sustaining the spirit with insight rune of Epiph, especially with guardian passive and templar, i get like 70sp/s and can just keep the finger on the skill button and see my monk barely run out of spirit.
hm also didnt pay much attention to assimilation, might try this one, because i'm missing a bit of dmg on WoL at the moment. I really think they should combine the 3 hits from WoL to only one. WoL seems for me like a massive whamming bell that really should do much damage, not 3 times low damage.
I tried the bell builds with FD instead and you guys are right. The damage is just higher with FD+ generator, rather then a sustained torch no generator set up.
currently gathering resources for hellfire amulet, if it rolls well (best case would be transcendence/beacon of ytar), then it might give some more boost to the build. kind of like it as good as old madstone swk proc, though sometimes a bit spam-luster.
i think if they've put the 3 hits together to 1 then the damage would feel more real.
With the last patch buffing Sunwuko's and the return of FD's double attack speed to how it was before, the build is pretty damn nice now. Dare I see the damage is competitive. With RROG im running a set up that gives me full swk, Innas, and cains (for attack speed). Running the following build:
larl ye, looks as it will boost SWK to set #1 for monks, but maybe it's also a testwise approach, so that they nerf it next patch again. but would be hell of nice to have it stay at 3500%
first i thought:
hellooo nirvana spam SWK
but then i read the monk patch notes
Transcendence : Life per Spirit gained reduced to 429 (down from 1568). Bonus gained from Health Globe Healing Bonus reduced to 0.4% (down from 2%).
I agree the transcendence nerf was too much especially considering what barbs got to keep even if they nerfed it down to 429 let us keep the 2% .4% is far too little imo.
Wuko build will imo have a much more comfortable play style than the ping pong lightning it does seem a little silly to me tho that a 4 piece bonus would do more damage and an easier play style than a 5 piece. Not that I am complaining. I was thinking about trying a cc build with swk so mostly frost abilities with cs and mantra. @sair89 what did you use for spirit generation?
I've shifted my build to be more spirit focused than damage focused with the changes.
Transcendence needed a nerf tbh, its not that bad since we can still get a hefty amount of life from spirit spent from gear (up to 800 on a daibo). Anywho i changed to a Wuko Pull build, using CS and spamming mantra for decoys, sometimes both for high burst. Crunching numbers vs a Bell build, over a 10 second period, using bell gives you 2000% weapon damage more over mantra spam + generator. This gap can be breached by depth diggers though and doesnt take into account the extra absorb shield from mantra of healing (which I use) and incidently got buffed. end story, I still get a 100k healing per mantra activate from transcendence + absorb shield. Got up to grift 30 before things started getting hard, but leaderboards seem to be broken atm
Edit: Oh and I don't think that the Wukos buff is too OP. Raiment might be weaker set to set but remember that lightning builds have a vast amount fo +lightning % available to them from gear whereas there is precious little +holy % available
Did some timed kills. It's slightly behind the WoL build but it is a lot safer from the mantra spam. For elites, I just pop epiphany and spam both cyclone strike and mantra. Its nice twith strong arms as well. Ran depth diggers, crudest boots (2 x spirit gain from air ally, + 200spirit on activation), sunwuko, full innas, flying dragon.
