I suppose these should be taken with grain of salt, since they weren't officially outed, and possibly may change ( while assuming that the blue posting there kind of validates the notes to be real, and not just making stuff up).
Unlike the poster of that topic, I'm really exited about getting rid of trying to min-max the gear to fit the chosen secondary resist, and constantly feeling bad about great upgrades that end up just taking space in stash because of missing or wrong secondary resist. That 20% reduction of new OWE seems somewhere around the value of the old one, although someone more mathy will be needed to actually confirm it.
Also the changes to spirit generators seem nice, exept maybe DR:SfB, which doesn't make much sense since we really lack in the cold damage spender department, and I doubt giving cold a good spirit builder will change much in terms of cold monks viability. Would like to be wrong here.
Some really nice other changes there as well, but had to spread the joy asap.
Bleh. Rereading the blue post I realized that it's in no way confirming the legitimacy of the notes.. Silly me. Well, those changes would have been interesting.

I think OWE will not be changed ever as there would be outcry from people who have geared 100% for it without any AR. However, empirically I think it would be a good move because OWE pidgeonholes super high tier gearing so much.
It wouldnt be the first time they screwed over people that geared specifically for one thing (attack speed)
The poster has dreamed up some pretty nice changes for some of the passives. I'd really love that Fleet Footed (could we get to keep that 10% from it as well, pretty please?).
The problem with current OWE is that it gives a false sense of being really overpowered even when it just allows the underlying problem of our squishiness stay somewhat hidden. On higher torments OWE is pretty much mandatory, but even with it, I'm way squishier with my monk than I am with my WD. Actually 2M more toughness on WD (and some can even come from vit!) and I'll probly survive T6 just fine. I'm already doing WAY more damage anyways. My monk sits at 13M toughness and while T5 is somewhat fine in terms of kill speed, I die too much on tougher affixes. On group T6 is pretty much a breeze through, but there I get to wear my zero DPS gear. WD is 4M sheet toughness, and I'm solo clearing T3/T4 and doing T6 in groups (with some dying issues tbh), and thats with quite a few days of playing monk on 70 and playing 2 days on WD. Thats how much fun it is trying to fit all 5 stats in gear compared to 4 and getting all res from int.
It's true that WDs are really powerful at the moment, but it's not just them. Barbs and Crusaders are also way more viable for soloing T6 than a monk thanks to not needing perfectly rollled gear compared to us. They do need the gear, but only 4 decent stats on them. Currently I have nice enough fire and lightning sets sitting in my stash, but I'm completely stuck with holy b/c the other sets secondary resists are all over the place. So either I spend a good chunk of souls on rolling for secondary stats and go with what ever primaries they happened to roll, or I "fix" the primaries and stick to speed farming T1 (possibly up to T3, but no way over that). Rolling on Strongarms is getting ridiculously high, for I'm still hoping to see another pair with eledmg, dex, vit, cc and phys resist, so I could just change bracers instead of rerolling the element when changing spec. Ofc I could go with others, but I hate that we are the only class that needs to make that sacrifice.
Let's say that monks need a fix... I haven't seen a pro monk yet using primaries... attack speed nerfed? What about just fire build just the one more viable besides lighting, I think I do around 300percent more dps than a lighting build... What about our sets, all mantras? That's a LAME, since they are just a little buff, it sucks! What about sunkowo? Daibo? You kidding me...? With primaries attack speed really reduced u hope us to use sunkowo sets with a staff/daibo without having a good spirit generator working? Actually my build counts of a reaper's wrap, air mystic ally and a lot of cdr to keep spamming epiphany... and what about LTK, proc with attack speed? Needed to reduce my IAS since it lamed all my spirit out if have a lot of attack speed... Finding a balance....
Worst upgrade for monks, and they will keep nerfing us and two-handed weapons for monks will always be a lame.
Here is a good post on US bnet D3 monk forum about OWE that pretty much says it all about OWE what I've been trying to say, and backs the stuff with some math as well, even if it is only part way thorough.
Id prefer them not touching owe. After finally getting arcane in my 2nd slots my resists go from like 800 to 1600, 20% non phy is a huge nerf.
I read that post lumis and i disagree about a barb being more tanky than a monk. 30+mil toughness, 4pc bt, 3pc aug, arcane neck and iceclimbers = take no damage. Maybe if the barb took all defense passives but he would be useless.
The point of the post was that because dex < str defensively, we need really well rolled OWE gear to just get even with barbs rocking one defensive passive as well while the barb has no special needs for secondary stats in their gear. So we're not OP tanks because of OWE, we're just barely on par with the barbs. Replacing OWE with something that restricts gearing less would be very welcome. Ofc we'd have to get something of similar level defense passive in return, so I'm not asking a nerf to our toughness either. What comes to your Zdps support gear: there is nothing that barb couldn't use as well, and if you threw the gear (obv with str) on him, he'd be even tankier than you without having to roll (or get really lucky) the secondary resists.
EDIT: And I'm not saying that the zdps support monk wouldn't be extremely effective in T6 group. It's just all we can be at a decent level of success.
Here's the topic that made my day: http://www.diablofans.com/blizz-tracker/topic/54151-2-0-5-monks-nerf

It is in no way real or leaked information. It is something that the person who made it wants to see.
