Since the lightning 4-piece isn't very exiting when you rock 100ish +lightning damage already on BiS, would going for 3 pieces of Blackthorne + 2 pieces of Aughilds (Chest, legs and feet BT and shoulders + bracers (or head) Aughilds) and using RoRG in ring slot make sense in HC aswell? That makes you immune to highest of aoe damages, and you're pretty resistant to ice already thanks to Epiphany. Then picking up Countess neck for arcane resist (since it is the easiest to get in terms of drop chance) would have you covered for everything besides poison and frost. And until you get well rolled EotS, you could even use 2 pieces Asheara (I believe there is head piece in that set, if not, then ignore this:)) going for gloves + head from Asheara and shoulders + bracers from Aughilds.
For a reason, the Bnet profile is not up to date. Probably an effect of changes among spell and other things. Here is what you don't see:

I was using DS-quicksilver and mantra of conviction-overawe or intimidation.
Tried multiple switch without get ride of DS, (like using SW / EP or LTK / EP or classic LTK / SW)
Finally, switching to mantra of healing sustenance give me the survivability I needed to skip DS.
EP chocking grasp is... Awesome. crit for 40-43M (up to 60M with conviction-overawe) this is my pack killer. If I know I will face a boss without add, I switch rune to flesh is weak.
SW is always active, LTK is to give me a burst DPS skill. Mainly on élite pack, or to quickly deal a mob with shocking grasp on it (or some trash with high HP)
-25% movement speed then Dex
-CHC. atm I'm on CDR because I try to respect the 1:10 CHC:CHD ratio. But as I'm not using my CD much and that I really don't have any source of CDR... Could put the points on CHD anyway
-Life regen for healing-sustenance then rall. I do this because i'm fine with my overall resistance. Could swith if I change some piece of gear and get unbalanced resistances.
-area dmg then life on hit. (mantra is good enough. Plus your big shocking grasp double explosion in area, even at 50% it's still 20M of electric love for every mob)
I'm still trying things with passive, but can't really notice if i'm better or not. Guess it's math from this point (switch determination with relentless assault, combination strike and alacrity mainly. This one could win the palm, but I already have 31% AS, so i'm not sure of the benefice.)

If I find a Gift, maybe I'll switch to Flying Dragon or Schaefer's Hammer. Fact is that actually i'm pretty close to a bis list (I am in fact. Only the stat rand is not to my sense).
Another point is that a lot of my DPS come from Odyn or TF proc (don't now which one proc for 10M). That + the loss of one crit gem + 18% less lightning dmg (if I don't go for FD), i'm not sure it's a good thing that I sacrifice my weapons
Can we get an update on this build for 2.1? I just came back to the monk and am struggling with rifts 30+ when all my friends are nearing level 40...
This was an awesome guide but it's out of date in terms of gear and I'm a little confused about the main generator suggestion. In the guide it starts off as deadly reach but in the comments after you were mentioning FoT and WoTHF. I LOVE hundred fists but can't seem to use it at all without getting 1 shotted past level 30.
I have given a shot to the new SWK with lightning, Flying dragon still overperforms compared to DW (Tested with TF, OS, SoH, WKL, I have all of them with pretty good stats) since the procs are weapon damage based. I should have a Shaeffer's hammer somewhere but I'm nto sure the loss in spirit regen from flying dragon is worth the added electrical %.
