I’m a casual player, and I haven’t had much time to play lately but I final got around to farming up the keys for the machine. I can easily handle most anything on MP5 with only the occasional death. Does that mean I should try Uber bosses on MP5 or should I step it down to MP3 or so? I don’t have tons of time to farm keys and didn’t want to waist a machine by starting at too high of an MP.
I realize the best answer to this question could be “it depends on the group”.
I’m just looking for a rough idea to get started. If anyone can post their gear and what MP they do Ubers at it would be helpful.
I'll pass on my experiences from the Ubers: Myself and a decently geared barb attempted Khule & Seigebreaker on MP5 on the PTR and it was a wipe-fest.
Since live, myself, another monk and a DH have been able to consistently clear MP4 ubers. Khule & Siege are by far the more difficult encounter though, and we typically lose at least one of us in that fight.
Our stats are (roughly):
Myself: 90-120k DPS, 2.8 LS, 800 LoH, 580+ Resist, 50k HP, 4800 armor
Other Monk: 70-100k DPS (depends on how much LoH he takes), 2.8 LS, 200-500 LoH, 630 Resist, 46k HP, 4700 armor
DH: 100k DPS (only with archery passive), No LS (relies on Shadow Power & Gloom), 49k HP
We likely could do higher MP ubers, but none of us enjoy that much of a challenge, and we can usually clear MP4 with a single attempt on each.
To add more data, we do key runs on anywhere from MP5 to MP7.
I'm in the same boat. I'm currently sitting on a couple of infernal machines but I'm trying to figure out what monster power to try the ubers on. I can't remember the source but I read that the Ubers were about the same difficulty as Diablo. I tried mp5 diablo and lets just say I won't be doing mp5 ubers solo any time soon.
FYI...I haven't used my machines yet because I'm just waiting for some friends to all be on at the same time so we can rez should we need it as opposed to solo without rezzes.
hi!
i do mp5 with friends usually - with more than double your dps and half your resists it depends on your strategy. you just should not die! (most important rule)
with 4 players, you should be able to assist (tanking) for ressurrections - if your group doesnt die, you win. its about avoiding death and ressurrecting smart.
starting with uberbosses should be for you, mb mp3? get a feeling for it, that's the biggest part. you could do mp5 but you should practice first.
get all your defensive stuff (resolve is really nice for the team) and get a LoH/lifeleach weapon to swap (this makes it incredibly easy to tank...). aim for 200-500k gold, get high LoH, LL and a socket for more LoH. should be 600+dps or something.... not important. its cheap.
start with your usual equipment, get your sweeping wind up with blinding flash and so on. if you drop, just swap one weapon to your new healing-weapon (your sweeping wind will NOT do less damage if it doesnt drop, so you'r fine. it does not update to the new weapon).
avoid anything that kills you (leorics 3-swing attack i.e.)
you can now tank anything - ghom, siegebreaker etc... which should do a lot of the work for your group (i usually have to solo siegebreaker, because i'm the only one who can ignore the reflect)
if you know how the bosses work, you almost never stop hitting, which should put you above any ranged-class with double your dps, because they have to run 50% of the time.
play smart, wear them down. a good knowledge how to deal with the bosses abilities is 90% of the work on "lower mp levels"
hope it helped

Thanks for sharing your strategy. I’ll definite pick up a survival weapon and give it a try on MP3 and see how it goes.
MP3 sounds like a good place to start, use a stopwatch for your kills and bring some friends. Look on the time required and that's your indicator if you can step up or not (assuming that you can take slightly more beating).
Thats a really good idea. There no reason to keep trying if I’m way behind the enrage timer.
Start low and work your way up. Try running with one or two similarly geared people max to start so you can call in a fourth "superiorly" geared player to carry if necessary. It'll really help to have a balanced team with a tank/DPS/support hybrid. Once you get a good feel of how well you and your teammates (the ones on your level) do and which levels you can handle, stick with those until you all improve your gear.
Also, I'd like to point out that I attempted MP10 on the first try and my party of three got crushed for a full 30 minutes at least before downing our first uber.
There's no shame in calling for reinforcements! If anything, the person you call will be happy to assist since it's a chance at organ drops.

Hey, that's me if you're on US of course. I don't think I can do MP 7 consistently though. Only tried MP6.
It's a lot more intense if you're on your own, in my experience. In a party, if everyone has similar power and skills, it becomes a lot easier.
Kulle's Slow Time is insanely powerful. To the point where you'll be hitting him once every 5 seconds. Siegebreaker's disable paired with nukes from Kulle can definitely kill you as well, so watch out for that (and save Serenity only for emergencies). I personally feel that mobility is key for this battle (Dashing Strike, Thunderclap). I could be wrong, but I think these 2 have the lowest enrage (and out of time) timers, if that's true maximizing dps is also key.
Ghoom's Cloud isn't a huuuuge dmg source in my experience, but when you pair that with hits from both bosses (Rakanoth has a particularly painful attack) and their minions, you're looking at some nasty bursts of dmg. You'll probably need a lot more sustain on this battle, and good timing on those mitigation skills.
Leoric and Maghda can be annoying with the sheer amount of summons they have. You might need more AoE for this battle if you don't want to be surrounded and swarmed to death. Arcane beams are also a nasty addition. Watch out for big bursts of damage from Maghda's summons (they have a wind-up attack, and if 3-4 of them all hit you at once, you're probably dead).
Most of those tips serve for the coop play as well, but the dmg is a lot more spread out. Your party does need to keep its focus though, keeping the attacks (and skill rotation) constant. If you have a Wizard with 80k dps that's 70% of his time running (from summons or because he's too squishy to take a single hit), he's probably hindering the party more than helping.

I’m currently sitting at:
50k dps
40k health
800 AR
4k armor
1100 LOH.
Thanks.

39k HP 2.4ls 600resists unbuffed 100kdps unbuffed. when running without the barb i usually tone it down to 7
