I was in the same position as you not long ago. Still trying to improve the build/gear.
However just wanna share a good advice given by a fellow player friend. Set a budget of MAX $1m on each item. This should provide a viable upgrade, as at the same time will avoid paying too much for one item just in case it was a mistake buy.
yea the echoing fury was an impulse buy super cheap the socketed ones are very expensive, but i check very often for one. and i didnt think offhand dmg mattered as much
Why would you think that? Monk is not a barb, 1/2 our damage is from the off-hand (this is for damage from direct attacks to be precise). That being said, weapon DPS is not crucial for monks, and a low DPS weapon with high stats (say 700-800 dps, but double crit and high dex) will give higher damage than e.g. a 950dps weapon with only a socket.
Now there is a second complication here, and that is sweeping wind. When you cast it, it's damage is based on your currently active weapons' DPS. Unless you feel like tracking your active weapon, half of the time you will cast it from the off-hand. So my suggestion usually is to get two weapons with similar DPS, so you don't have to worry about it. With echoing fury you have to add the attack speed to the off-hand to see whether it is in the same range or not.
wow alot of good info i did not know about , yea i was a little confused on that MH/OH dps

Does this mean a 1,000 dps, 1.2 attack speed offhand with a +0.24 aps (20%) echoing fury would count as 1,200 weapon damage for sweeping wind if it activates while the offhand is active?
with the new gear I can easily farm anywhere even with a puzzle ring and some mf gear when I run w
ith friends . I do have to remember to make sure I hit sweeping wind with MH the dmg is noticeable
and to anyone going to hate on the puzzle ring.. its amazing
with 3 people were averaging 12-14 goblins a run in act 3( about an hour a run)
even tho there act 1 goblins its already paid off with a few nice rares

Fantastic information, lots I didn't know.
I thought it is only weapon DPS = AS* (min+max)/2, but now it seems that there are other factors too.
