I went on break from playing my monk before this latest patch been playing my DH and focusing on him but i'd rather play my monk. I can't really survive or kill anything at all, before i threw on 2 1h i was tanking an old style to kill diablo with plenty of LPS and low health to regen after his attacks.
Gear help please to survive and kill things and to be able to farm acts 2 or 3 can't even do those :/
i'm also not sure if my current build is any good either.
Could you post your BNet tag, so we can find your profile and work on some advices? I think you can't post links, but I will edit this pots with it once I have your tag (to make it easier for others).
I too have been having some difficulties with my Monk lately (after not playing with her for about 3 weeks). I remember being able to do Act 3 just fine, and now I can't seem to get past difficult rare/elite packs (specially ranged A.I. ones with Molten/FireChains + disable, or Heralds of Pestilence, or Horde Phasebeasts :fret:).
updated with my bnet tag, thanks for looking into it, i know i used to be able to tank just near everything with the set up i was now i just die instantly.
In terms of survivability, you need more armour as your res and vit are pretty peachy. Your chest armour could be swapped for dex/vit/3 soc/massive armour (350 bonus on archon armour should be dirt cheap, otherwise +armour/+physical resist is also an option, +armour/all res/physical is probably too expensive for the modest benefit it'll give).
Likewise, replacing your shoulders with archon spaulders or palliums with dex/vit/armour/physical res will bump that up as well. As long as your armour/10 is equal to the difference in resistance you'll be better off (don't forget that ilvl 63 items have higher intrinsic armour as well so you should be looking at +400-450 armour per upgrade). By my rough gestimate, even if your armour/10 is 2/3rds of the lost resistances, your EHP should still be slightly better. Dex and str both increase armour too.
Standing in the middle of desecrator or multiple fire chains is just silly and if you're dying because of that then you need to move out of the way, not up your EHP.
Swapping FoT/thunderclap for DR/keen eye is better than MoE/hard target. Plus you can run MoC/overawe which is hands down the most single OP skill (when considered alone and not in conjuction with other skills) in the game.
That should be enough to get you started.
Never swap Thunderclap for Keen Eye! Use them both if you need the extra armor. The damage you do, the upkeep with the teleport, the huge overpowered proc rates of Thunderclap are enough to warrant a locked status on your bar.
Keen Eye is indeed very useful, I've used it a lot, but using it as a main attack is not worth it, unless you're not using Cyclones with SW. I've used it with Firestorm/Blade Storm for kiting, very good but takes a long time to kill elites.
And when I was severely undergeared, Hard Target and The Guardian's Path helped a lot.

Gonna work on some upgrades for her
