Im a newbie and I have a couple of questions regarding dual weilding. to give you some background Im currently in act 3 near spider b*, im using fists of thunder and sweeping wind.
my questions:
-if im dual wielding and both of my weaps have LoH or Crit dmg, whenever i hit an enemy does it get the total LoH and Crit dmg or does it only get the current value from the weapon used?
-i currently have an axe with 960dps, 150 dex and 400 Loh and a fist with 850 dps 76% crit chance and 3% life steal.which one should be my primary weapon and which one should be my off-hand? (and if you could, tell me why)
-is it better to dual wield the above weapons or use one of them with a sheild (for the crit%)? (sheild with 19% block 8.5 chance to crit and 120 dex)
-from what ive read, the damage of the cyclones that procs from sweeping wind is based from your primary weapon only, is this true? and the dmg that sweeping wind does(the 15%), where is it based from?(weapon used when activating it, primary weapon or off hand?) finally, the fist of thunder, does it alternate in using your weapons? (if dual wielding)
monk stats
40k hp
6k amr
600 res
31k dps (with fist and shield)
45% chance to crit
200% crit dmg
thank you so much for your time, this would really help me
loh/critdmg/dex/whatever static stats on a wep are constantly "on". I have 160loh on MH and 751loh on OH. I have 911 on every attack, no matter which hits. The same is true for my crit damage from both weps. Double dipping on crit damage is the main reason to dual wield.
FoT alternates, yes.
Sweeping wind has conflicting reports. I always would keep the higher dps wep in main hand just in case, but some claim that sweeping wind alternates as well -- given how lazy blizzard was with barb dw coding (sprint tornadoes only apply mainhand), I wouldnt be surprised if bliz only applied our mainhand as well. Basically it costs you nothing to mainhand your superior wep, so do it just in case?
