Ill be progressing into Inferno soon, Just started heaven on hell.
Just wondering what viable stats would be to get through Inferno without to many problems ?
Im currently sitting on about 12k dps, 30k hp, Approx 40% dodge.
Lol I also just started Inferno for the first time a couple of hours ago. My stats are worse than yours (5k damage, 35k health and 4k armor I think); I can't do anything against elite packs in Act 1 Inferno. I've only bought a fist weapon on the AH and nothing else, that's probably why I suck so much. Just make sure your resistances are "adequate", cause mine suck. I probably should start buying items to progress further, I'm gonna wait for patch 1.0.3 before trying again though.
Edit: @Ghostload - yeah those stats seems realistic. I only have like 380k gold to spend on good items, but none that's be a game changer.

I jumped onto the AH and bought 2 fist weapons with 500+ DPS including decent states for about 50k each. So i'd suggest having a look at what you can get from there.
Single biggest thing you need to progress into Act 1 without becoming past is resist. For about 500k in total gold you can get a basic set started. The only way to do it *cheap* is to sacrifice DPS for vit/resist stacked gear.
Once you're actually surviving in Act 1, the gold drops fast enough that 5 NV butcher runs will help you build your gold up so you can get DPS/Resist gear and bring your DPS back up.
I've been buying cheap gear for a while (100k tops) and I am progressing currently with 21k HP, 10.3k unbuffed dps, 2.5k armor (seriously low), all resists around 220+, 41% dodge, 2.4 AS and something like 400 LoH. I get hit around a lot, my HP goes way down constantly but I keep finding myself alive and in the thick of things.
Thing is people aren't realizing that stats in itself (gear) aren't the only thing you need to keep an eye on. Especially for those who don't have millions to spend on the AH, such as myself, you need to think about what kind of build you are playing, what are its strengths and weaknesses, how can I maximize my effectiveness, etc. I'm still dual wielding, so I focused on getting good AS%, enough resists, the most dex for dodge/damage I could get since I don't use Evasion and other details that don't make uber nor horrible, just good enough to go through content without having to skip stuff.
4.5-5k armor, 400 resist, 10k dps, 300-400loh and 25k hp should allow you to comfortably farm Act 1 inferno. You still have to play smart with elite packs obviously. You'll likely find some upgrades too hopefully.
I started Act 1 inferno with ~30k health, 4k armor, about 8.5k dps and 40%ish dodge. I pretty much steamrolled Act 1, albeit I already have two other toons progressed into Act 2, so that probably helped a bit. The only problem I see with 5x NV Butcher runs is that 99.9% of the time I get shafted with gear that A. No one would use if they had half a brain, B. Would be simply amazing if it had that ONE stat in place of another that make it completely worthless for me. or C. Are level 55-57 blues.

I understand where your coming from mate, I rarely have over 100k to spend on the AH. So im really only using what i pick up. Iv had a bit of luck recently. Iv really only had to get weapons off the AH. So i find myself doing the whole In and Out dance with elite packs. Run in, Pop my immunities and burst as much as i can > Run like a 10 year old does from michael jackson.
