I just finished Hell on my Monk and grinded Inferno a bit, a yellow polearm droped with close to 800 dps.
Sooo I used it and my Spirt reg is obv shiet. Should I go back to 2x 1hand and lose 3k dps or stick with it?
Also, I cant use any other Spirit Generator other than Fist of Thunder (Thunderclap) The blink is just so nice, I hate being kited. Anybody else feed this way? If I use way of a hundred fists or deadly reach I just feel so slow and I just die.
Since Im not getting anywhere in Inferno, should I just keep grinding hell? eventhough the drops are really bad?
Thunderclap in inferno is just asking to be killed imo. I've been using deady reach w/ scattered blows and the reach on it lets me kite melee mobs pretty well. 3 hit combo run back, 3 hit combo run back, etc.
But to answer your question, i'd stick with the 2 weapons myself. The only 2h you should use are daibo's imo since they generate extra spirit, hit like trucks, and its pretty easy to find one w/ attack speed on it.
I beg to differ. Alot of people are throwin around the "oh you get 15% attack speed if you dual wield it must be best" business but I assure you that's very far from the case.
You also get 15% attack speed from using a Daibo. Not a staff; a Daibo. Daibo's are faster than staves by default and do a little less but they do give that 15% attack speed. It's also fairly easy to find a Daibo on the AH w/ even more % attack speed and even life on hit / life steal, and the best part; spirit regen. Using a Daibo with a Spirit stone that both have spirit gen on them, in combination with resonance, you generate quite a bit of spirit per second. Hell if you use the mantra of healing with circular breathing and sweeping wind with inner storm you can easily generate over 10 sp/s on top of your strikes adding spirit, and have a near infinite supply of spirit.

It really stinks that item selection is limited like this. I mean, rings and amulets should have +damage and +APS, and weapons should be 1H's. It stinks that there's not more room for playing around with gear.

It makes sense for Inferno too, since you are hitting and running often, you want that hit to be hard so you can move quickly.
I think they should make Spirit Generators generate a portion of spirit based on damage or low APS. Like generate 6 SPR + 2% of damage per hit (or whatevers balanced) when you have a 2H and the lower your APS the 2% can vary from 2-5% (the slower the higher).
This would give 2H a reason to consider it without having to use the 25% 2H regen passive.
