NIGHTMARE DIFICULTY + MONK = EASY MODE?

  • #1
I'm using this build at level 33,
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#UeXijQ!YXb!ZZbZZa
i have +4k health, life stealing 2h weapon, lot of gearing for vit+dext (for a lot of damage)

Well i tough it'll be more of a challenge when i got to nightmare with my monk, cuz i was sweeping the floor with every enemy on normal, and when i got to diablo i defeat without almost no effort i just keep spamming and healing, and it went down pretty easlily.
But ... I'm sweeping the floor nightmare elite foes without almost no effort at all, i don't know how is gonna be in hell, but i'm pretty sure i'll be able to solo it.
Last night i fought the skeletong king on a 3 party team, and i was the one dealing more damage one of them died and i keep spamming and healing until it died, and didn't use a single potion (actually i don't even know they are there :P ).
Maybe this should be called "Monk = Easy Mode"?

U posted the wrong build. the rune in "Way of the Hundred Fist" is a lvl 40, and u wrote that u where 33,

but if all ur gear is dex+vit, then ye it should be easy, since i only have vit or dex on my gear, havent found a dex+vit gear yet,

Im ½ way through act 2 nightmare and its not that hard

Normal and Nightmare are both extremly easy.
Nightmare atleast tries to kills you some times.
The game gets only hard in late Hell and in Inferno.
Rares and Champion Mobs can get insane to a point where you need
to admit that with your equip it is more efficient
to just skip the Mobs with most stupid combinations of abilities
and only kill the easier ones for the Nephalem Buff.
But it is a lot of fun still trying to defeat them.
Without the possibility to loose the game or get stuck at a point
i don't think you can call a game a game, then it is more like an
interactive sightseeing tour. Atleast Normal is definitly a sightseeing tour
and you can have fun by admire the view, but after that you definitly
should go in direction of Inferno. But i understand that Blizzard wants
everyone to have fun with this game.

i can't agree more with you there, is like a sightening tour, cuz you rarely even come closer to die, oh and Diablo fight is a joke, I found more hard to kill belial on normal mode than diablo.

i switched to that when i hit 42, just alot of spamming of MoH, so much so that i am thinking of switching out Lashing Tail kick

Everything up until Inferno was quite easy, the only thing to look out for in Hell was elites with a very specific set of affixes, but even they were doable. I'm a bit disappointed in the difficulties as I'd have to say NM & Hell in d2 was a bit more of a challenge than in D3, but I guess they made up for it with Inferno! If you run with a 1h + shield and stack Vit, you'll breeze right through. I think I died a total amount of 13-15 times until Inferno.

Nightmare is eazy mode. It doesnt compare to anything compared to Inferno . To make it straight if Nightmare = 1x then Inferno is = 20x in times of difficulty (and i mean mostly the rare packs). Enjoy your eazy mode while it last ! and get ready to spend like 50.000 gold in repairs in just 2-3h of Inferno.

    Have fun.

don't make brag threads pre-60 pls no one cares

    /agree :)
  • #11
We can have threads about non-endgame content- the game's only been out a week!
  • #12
you misinterpreted what i said - i said brag threads suck, discussion threads are awesome. there is nothing in the op that promotes discussion, there is only "hay look im the best lvl 33 in the game laul"
  • #13
NM is faceroll... atleast if you played hell/inferno once.

ok ok i got it, but i wasn't trying to brag or anything, i know there's lot of people better than me, and also i can't play as much as they do. My only point was that playing with the monk seems easy , that's where i wanted to "start a discussion", some people got it some people didn't, Obviously you didn't got the message, so why u reading then?

Some people can't play everyday 24-7, or have some marvelous skill to level up to 60 magically in 2 hours O.o

Enjoy the fun while it lasts. Even tho you are already playing a defensive build.
I had a breeze through norm, nm and the first acts in hell with a rather offensive build and in act 3 it's getting annoying to try and play that way. You gonna have to use quite a few defensive abilities (and abuse boon).

    I will thanks :)

well i'm 41 in act 2 NM and am getting completely destroyed. got some vitality gear and gems from friends but am still getting obliterated mainly by rare packs and elites. have about 9000 health and ~700 damage.

what skills are you using? try using defensive, healing. And try to equip some hp stealing weapon, and some hp regen items.
And you certainly don't need to rush directly trough them, if it gets too crowded don't stay in the middle, just take it one at a time. *kite kite kite*. Once you get you spirit back up spend it, trascendence should do the healing work for you. The harder ones i come are the ones with fire or poison damage, since i have very low resistances, but if you have enough healing capabilities you souldn't have any trouble defeating them. Having 9k hp doesn't mean much if you can't heal or take all the damage, elites do a lot of damage.

Actually now i'm at level 39 dual wielding 7k health ~800 damage, using this build:
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#WeXiTQ!YVd!bbbbbZ
And is working pretty well against elites.
