I've always like the idea of a themed monk, and this one is themed around fire. Named after Ignis, one of the best characters in Planescape: Torment :). I'm quite pleased with this build and how well the skills complement each other.
This is designed to be a very close ranged build, drawing enemies in with Cyclone Strike and ripping them apart with Sweeping Wind, Mystic Ally and the passive dodge damage from Mantra of Evasion:
Active Skills
Crippling Wave (Concussion) - I'll be getting up close and personal with enemies. 20% less damage from everything = win. The third strike being a 360° attack makes it combine beautifull with my main spirit spender:
Cyclone Strike (Wall of Wind) - This ties into Mantra of Evasion. Draw enemies in, debuff with Crippling Wave while the other skills do the damage. +20% Dodge after using makes me happy!
Breath of Heaven (Circle of Scorn) - I'll need healing, and this also damages enemies at the same time. Not much more to say
Sweeping Wind (Fire Storm) - It's a fire and forget skill, so I can pop this before Cyclone Strike to make sure all of the monsters get hit
Mystic Ally (Fire Ally) - Low spirit cost, and hopefully he can pick off the stragglers that Cyclone Strike misses. He does 40% weapon damage, the flaming kick does 80% + another 80%)over 2 seconds. I'm drooling at the thought of this. Hopefully the AI is fairly intelligent
Mantra of Evasion (Backlash) - I'm doing a lot of close quarters combat. Improved dodge is a good thing, plus the added bonus of a chance doing 35% extra damage on each dodge. I don't know the proc rate, so I may swap this for another mantra depending on how good/bad it is in live.
Passive Skills
Exalted Soul - Both Cyclone Strike and Sweeping Wind use quite a lot of Spirit. Having 200 in the bank vs 100 makes my life infinitely easier.
The Guardian's Path - Tie this to Mantra of Evasion if I'm using DW. +15% dodge on top of everything else. If I don't see a benefit, I can swap to 2H and generate spirit faster for Sweeping Wind
Seize the Initiative - This seems like a great passive to have up. Dex will be on items in huge amounts for endgame. This will directly boost my damage reduction and allow me to focus on DW weapons or 2H and not worry about a shield.
Do you see any obvious flaws in this build? What would you change?
Wel i agree with the guy above that you should get the sunburst rune, but dont replace the mantra, instead replace breath of heaven. If monsters in inferno deal 28k dmg, then i dont see how 7442 life would help you.
So now ignis will be fully born.

That's 28k damage before armor, etc. If you don't see how a huge heal helps....lol
I've been toying with the below build.. including my reasoning for skills.

Regardless, I like the idea and it looks okay. I would definitely change some things if it was designed for a group Hell/Inferno build.
