Monks train in all kinds of weapons, spears, swords, bo staffs, chains with balls on the end? and an array of other weapons,
im talking about, walking, talking, fighting monks, this very minute somewhere in the world, factual monks.
It would be pretty sad, if this monk in a fantasy hack, and slash game came out, and only used a few different weapons.
I dont want to have to sell every spear, and sword I find just because Monk only knows one weapon type.
Dont disappoint me Blizzard....
The monk doesn't know 1 weapon type, and it doesn't know all. It is also the only fighter that can fight empty handed, which I count as a weapon.
So currently there are three weapons, staff, fist, fist weapons. I also recall someone saying something about spears.
Not all Monks (irl) are trained to use all weapons.
And my final point is that fantasy games are not made for this kind of realism, they are made for the most amount of fun. The Barbarian is the char with the least limits and it should stay that way.
So Monks are for sure gonna be able to use fist weapons like Sin's? I saw a like drawing in blizzards char profile for monk with a bunch of claws but I cant recall seeing him use claws in the gameplay videos.

Fist doesn't count as a weapon imo. Because almost certain design a build to unarmed monks will problably not be viable. Really, diablo is about items, every item slot you don't use in your chaarcter = less fun.
I'm guessing the monk will be the character most limited by weapon types. I think he will basically use maces, staffs and fists.
Yeh but then they'd have to give him lots of skills and stuff that are only available while he's unarmed. Because of passive bonuses on weapons like +skills, extra cold, chance on hit to shoot chain lightning/other spell.
And I'm not sure I want them to do that.

"A lot of fellows nowadays have a B.A., M.D., or Ph.D. Unfortunately, they don't have a J.O.B."
The monk will fight with fists by wearing fist weapons.
Ok, i assume for a moment that the monk will take out his damage from his glove, fight with barefists and use a shurken head-like item in his hand slots. Am I alone or a monk punching demons while holding a talisman-like itme look ridicolous ?
Hold anything in the hand already breaks the cathegory of unarmed weapon.
Really, a weapon is something you use to kill. When the paladin smites with his shield, the shield IS a weapon.
Unarmed combat won't happen. Diablo monks are dudes in full plates and large staff/fist weapons, deal with it.
I'm still not sold to this new "class limitation" on weapons.
Really, my brother are playing a daggerzon and shes awesome. When i look back at d2 and see this kind of build i think fear this weapon class thing.
Imo all classes should use all weapons... a little more work to avoid any possibility of destroying the bad asses crazy under dog builds.

Faded out her voice and soiled her name
And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days
Why would we really need to live?
Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth

Imo this is the very reason why fists weapons exist: allow fist fightning in a item based game.
