I've been stuck on Grift 47 for ages now, and i'm just not able to get 48.
I don't know which item I need to try and hunt for first in my current setup.
I have an "eye of etlich" amy, but it rolled with no socket or any crit, and it's why i'm not using it. The kaleidoscope is my next best option in my bag atm.
Other changes i've tried was to roll LPH rather on my staff in stead of % dmg. I'm able to stay alive a bit more like that, but then it feels like i lack dps.
how about replacing all your diamonds to emeralds? (except for the one on the head) all resist is definitely a great way to increase sustainability but emeralds increase your sustain + damage. For skills try using tsunami over wind blast (with tsunami you really don't need to worry about melee damage so you can definitely switch string of ears with witching hour), and Forbidden palace over Impending Doom? Impending Doom definitely helps boost your damage but keep in mind it drains spirit as well. I would rather use that spirit on one more dashing strike. Also keep in mind dashing strike works just like barbs furious charge so technically you can use it to hit more monsters than Impending Doom with double the damage. Lastly I personally prefer LpH over HpS because LpH can heal you at all times but HpS can only heal you when you are using dashing strike and with my experience I spend more time regenerating spirit with primary skill than hitting enemies with dashing strike.
I would probably use Inner Sanctuary w/ Forbidden Palace. Not only does it boost damage the mobs take by 30%, but it decreases the damage you take by 55%, so it couples as an offensive & defensive skill. I would also try to craft a solid Hellfire Amulet. You will end up spending a lot of time & resources crafting the HFA, but at this point it can be an extra 15% spirit gen AS, or 20% damage from moving etc.. There is a lot of potential in Hellfire Amulet, but it just takes time to craft a usable stat w/ worthwhile passive.
Will try the dex > diamonds in chest and legs thing.
I have been having a go at the hellfire amy yes. So far the best i've gotten is NDE. just getting resolve and unity all the time. Looking for the alacrity one. Apparently that one is quite good for us.
Any further suggestions please don't hesitate to give any opinions.
I would start throwing blood shards on bracers for the spirit guards, that would be a significant boost in survivability for you. That way you can switch to the rune on fists of thunder that increases spirit gen rather than freezing, and as such you can dash more often.
My experience in switching from CS-Tsunami to FoT isn't that good. With Tsunami you will perma stun hard hitters and only get hit by some fast but low hitting mobs.
My bad, I didn't realize OP isn't playing seasonal, so Spirit Guards is out of the question. Freezing rune would indeed be better then, combined with the apd bracers he already has.
But yes, I am using inner sanctuary - forbidden palace and not EP.
I've made the change of the diamonds to emeralds. I've been able to clear 49 now thanks. EU 691 monk
Thanks for all the inputs. Everyone has been talking about skills mostly, and it seems that I am using the right setup (even though not showing on my profile).
What do you guys think about my gear and which items I should look at first?
And for seasonal, do you think spirit guards are enough to survive hard hitting attacks? I tried FoT for several times and find myself to be very squishy. I have to (actively) dodge every hard hitting attack and reposition every second. But maybe that's necessary for pushing higher :/
I'm surviving 47s pretty easily with the dash build quin69 has posted on this site. I think I can handle higher toughness-wise but I don't have an ancient weapon yet to meet the damage req.
Some things might wreck you if you stand in it for too long but with dash it's easy to escape and to avoid the oneshot mechanics. Just gotta keep the bracer buff up and use inner sanctuary on CD, but to work with focus/restraint you'd have the bracer buff up anyway. Life per hit on your weapon is REALLY important for survival as well.
@OP I'm no expert but looking at your gear it seems like you have all the right pieces, except maybe a hellfire amulet. I'd go with that or hunt for slightly better rings as one of yours still has vitality on it.

Cant see what bracer you have, Seems ti be a non seasonal hero, so grabbing ancient parthan would be nice. You need better rings with critchance and critdamage. Probabaly a gloves with cooldown instead of vit. And i am not entirely sure abot your flying dragon. You might be having too much healing. I didnt test life per fury spent vs lifeonhit, you might die you might not, but the 10% damage is gonna be eventually necessary to push higher.
Hi,
Thanks, I have ApD. It's just showing the gungdo gears because i ended playing grps last night.
I've tried switching my LPH out for % dmg, but I don't survive like that.
Seems to be then: Rings, gloves and weap with better rolls is the way to go for me.
You should have enough healing with only life per spirit spend. Have you tried to roll vitality on your weapon? That would be massive toughness boost.
Also as people suggested, you must go for diamonds in your gear.
Freezing cripling way rune + APD. For this non seasonal spec, Datmodz suggested using the the pain enhancer gem.
About the amulet. It would be better to get hellfire amulet. But the one you have is not bad either.
Your rings are your weakest link. You want crit chance + crit damage combo on both rings. You are loosing 100-150k sheet dps from that.
You should be able to push to 50+ if you get decent rift. Melee mobs. Good density to utilize APD and pain enchancer. Archers will wreck you i think regadless what you do.
Will give the suggestions a go thanks.
Pain enhancer in place of Bane of the trapped then?

It's currently showing gungdo gears, but i have ApD and also using inner sanctuary - Forbidden palace in place of EP.
