The best part about this set is that it gives you options for neky, belt and rings. A cindercoat I think will be a must for solo, but with a group build you could use rain chest and open up other options as well.
Stack elite damage with blockthorns neky, belt and SoJ

Use a witching hour for straight damage
String of ears for GR damage reduction
Goldwrap with boon for farming
Its really good. Really, really good.
If you can somehow manage enough damage reduction without double Unity, Focus/Restraint would be perfect for this as it now grants 50/50 (100%) extra damage and you'll be using both generator and spender with this.
^If you run out of resource but still dash, it will consume the dashes's charges. If you're out of charges, it wont dash even if you have spirit. They should fix this.
Is anyone else thinking, best Keywarden farming spec in the game?
This will probably be the best speed farm spec period. For anything. Only downside appears to be toughness in higher grift tiers (at least theoretically).
This could also work with new focus/restraint, as it's a separate 50% damage buff modifier.
Has Anyone tested viability of Mythic Rhytm for this new spec? I suppose it wont outweight other dps passives like momentum and determination and seize the initiative?
Were the restrain + focus set bonuses changed? I dont remember being used at all in the past. 50+50% extra damage is so strong i think they will be the main thing for this spec, if we can compensate the lack of unity somehow with the new bracers.
No, it won't outweigh for several reasons:
1) You're unlikely to hit 3x with a generator if you have enough spirit regen/rcr (especially if you go fire + cindercoat).
2) You only get a damage boost to a single cast of DS, not all of your charges - so if you can charge 4 times for example before casting again, it's only a 10% effective boost.
3) Focus/Restraint is now a 50% boost to spender and a 50% boost to generator. Both are separate multipliers from everything (including each other).
I did some testing with mythic rhytm(MR).. it did not impress me at all... the point of MR to me is to boost your damage ...but if we play properly we do not need it... a focus + restrain combo + using the passive for + attack speed will do more for the set in terms of resource generation and spending rather than having a 40% increase spender... with good gear ( a bad furnace /any 2hander that +elemental damage ) will give you on average about 200k million crit damage ( good for T6 farming) if you want to go higher u can put in better gear like the focus + restrain and focus on getting +attack speed passives + using flying dragon to boost ur generation /usage of dashing strike...

2. the new gems that are coming out offers us the option to increase our defensive capabilities , there is a new string of ears type of gem coming to season 3 ( i think about 35% melee damage reduction at gem level 50 ...30% at gem level 40)
combine that with our passive (25% non - physical damage reduction + the new esoteric gem ) + a string of ears + the new defensive bracers (30-40% damage reduction ... we can survive easily with out using any active skill slots to reduce damage taken
3. most monks will want to be using gorgok of swiftness ( its now helps alot offensively and defensively with the changes to raiment as we can use it to boost our survivalbility and have better ephi uptime/inner santuary uptime/ or even to help improve our serenity uptime / we can also use the new ring of zodiac ( to increase the cd of all our random skills )
so overall monks are going to be very strong single and in groups ... i finally feel our class is getting some proper loving this season change
The set increases the BASE skill damage to 12500%, so the 30% is 12.5*1.3 = 16250%. I'd say it's worth it.

Too bad they've fixed 50 cost per charge, as it was earlier on PTR, now it is correctly spends 75 as the set description states. But it was awesome!

Which would be the best weapon for the new raiment of a thousand storms?
