Please tell me that it's something other than the LTK / cold EP being touted as GR50 capable. I've been running it with some very nice gear and it's total BS. I hope there's something better out there that I'm missing.
While I think quinn has some helpful builds, please don't tell me this is the top build right now because he's won a popularity contest. There's no way that build can reach 50 like he claims unless maybe you're gems are already at 50 and you've maxed out your paragon points in the offensive tab.
It's not that complicated IDK. By far the best thing to do this season is use EP with gungdo gear. There's not that much room for variation. Using RORG, sunwuko set, inna's set and crudest boots gives you 1 slot to mess with. Quin says Cindercoat is the best option. If you don't like that you could try flurry or something, but if you don't crit, that build doesn't do damage.

I've seen his build, it probably is the best build for Furnace. Sunwukos is a really good set but it was a quick fix, monk spenders are still crappy. There aren't a lot of options like some other classes. You should just experiment instead of complaining about Quin, you will be able to figure out what the "best" build is for you quickly because again the choices are limited.
I'm far from a monk pro however I tried out quin's build when I found my ancient furnace and I had a lot better results when using lightning EP rather than cold EP.
Cold EP does do higher damage but what I noticed is it doesn't spread as nicely as lightning. One reason is due to the fact that a lot of time giant mobs are blocking your movement so its hard to get your EP to low health targets. Lightning EP will spread to targets nearby without EP on them. Yes in an ideal Grift cold EP will win out however I felt it lacked any sort of consistency.
Now something i noticed but haven't tested extensively is the gungdo gear spread mechanic. This may already be answered but I can't find it, but I don't know how the spread works. From what I saw (But could easily be wrong). Is EP only spreads if the mob caught in the explosion lives. The problem with cold EP is no mob lives through it (for the most part). So you end up blowing up a lot of enemies around you but don't end up spreading the EP. Lightning EP with its lower explosive damage and also the initial bleed is able to chain much better in my experience due to mobs living through it.
As for using LTK or WOL i think it matters what weapon you're using. The reduced spirit cost of fire spells will make LTK do more damage per spirit spent which will speed up RG kills especially with a furnace. Using a furnace will also cause elites to take substantially more damage when EP explodes on them. However when using a Incense torch if spirit never runs out the damage efficiency of the ability is a moot point.
TL:DR - Cold EP is better on paper, but worse in practice (IMO) due to it not spreading as easily. LTK with Furnance/Cindercoat is more spirit efficient than WOL but if resource management isn't an issue then its a moot point.
Just throwing this out there...an online playing friend of mine recently cleared Grift 45 and almost 46 using ancient furnace, madstone and cold gungdo. He did this with a hybrid tempest rush flurry, seven-sided strike, and cold EP build. It sounded really crazy when he told me what he cleared the grift with, but once we did a couple in two player it made a lot of sense. Plus its a good change of pace.

Vulture Claw with Cindercoat. A top ancient is still probably better than a regular furnace. Torch fortunately/unfortunately is better than both.
