This is for season, but not trying to push ladder. Currently using FrostFire for T6 farming and Leg Gem leveling. I have a 24-2500 Calamity, 27xx Kridershot, 27xx (18%)Etrayu. I'm assuming the Etrayu is the winner for the 18% cold, but I can see an argument for each. MfD is 20% bonus, I believe, but on the lowest base damage weapon for me. Krider allows me to add a lot of self fired attacks.
If not using Kridershit, you will want to reserve every point of hatred for CA, and won't be able to use any second spender effectively, more over you will have to use a +6 or +7 generator which will not be multiplied by sentries (not to mention lower damage output compared to EA). As a result you will have off times where you are supposed to fill up hatred and uptimes where you are supposed to spam CA.
Exclusively firing EA & CA, anything that comes out of your Kridershot will be x3 (or x5 with rucksack).
So that 18% cold skill bonus is pathethic compared to that..
On the long run find/craft an ancient 2H weapon with high min-max damage and then your bows can have their place in stash museum..
@cying Thanks for that. Didn't realize that MfD buffs party dps too. Still hunting a season Helltrapper.
@Shinna Yeah, either weapon has the tier 6 breakpoint. I can't see how to reach the tier 7, lol.
@Alka Thanks. 2.1.2 is exactly why I was excited on the Kridershot even though I didn't expect to use it now. I'll definitely be hanging onto it. As to the ancient weapons, I haven't been on the PTR, but I would think the hatred limitation would make Krider competitive with an ancient Arcane Barb, but I defer to your experience if you've tested and ancient is better.
Just my informal running around T5, Etrayu and Calamity seemed to kill faster. Krider, for now, just allows me to be more active, which can be a nice change of pace. Finally got a second Unity to equip on my follower so actually running around T6 finally. Thanks for all the input.
For me, switching from a 2900 Nats to a 2450 Etrayu (18% cold) was 7% damage increase. Still trying for better damage Etrayus (for this patch) and Kriders (for next patch) though. Would love to see a 2700+ drop.
It is temporarily possible with a 1h xbow (with 7% AS ), 15% paragon AS, ~55% gear AS, and 15% with a fully stacked gogok's swiftness gem, which requires you to land hits on your target (not to an empty wall).

In 2.1.2 we will be using all the RCR we can get to be able to increase the number of CA shots, and when CA is that dominant in any possible build combination, the weapon damage capabilities play bigger role than their legendary afflixes after some point. If you wish to go high levels (40+) an average Kridershot might dissapoint you. But dw there are plenty of options for hatred management.
I agree with the other posters that Etrayu is most effective with Calamity edging it out in some group scenarios. One thing to consider though, if absolute max efficiency is not your only concern then spend some time with the Kridershot as well, it is a great training tool for the upcoming patch since it encourages you to practice aiming, positioning and damage avoidance skills that will be required in the new M6 builds.

On topic: For frostfire just go for your Etrayu in my opinion.
