Played at PTR and M6 is AWESOME right now. The burst damage with sentries is outrageous. A fire build using the fire one hander and cindercoat and changing the build to Loaded for bear and everything was being blowing out ou the water in AWESOME ways. Its just sooo much more fun. Never had a single problem with Reflect Damage in GR 37/38/39, when they start reflecting, just shoot the wall that your sentries still aim automatically. Do not fear my fellow DHs, our build is better than ever. Its pretty amazing seeing your sentries shooting for 300m a single shot. After that, I cant go back....thx god tower defense DH is gone! It was not a nerf FOR SURE....the damage is tooo damn high.
Replaced tasker for a marauders glove, put a cindercoat, replaced etrayu for the fire onehander abd that was it. Have huge amounts of fun.
Nice post. To me it looks like they combined the calculations server side to reduce server lag instead of making 4+ equasions for each shot fired.
Do you have a krinder? Test it out, see if you benefit, on live you dont get the generator bounus for generating hate with elemental arrow. Does the leg gem benefit krinder now?

I agree that having pets out doesn't equal to a passive playstyle.
Anyway the difference (in my opinion) is the way you make them deal damage. I'll take WD as expamle, since it's the class that reloes more heavily on pets - even with a full pets build, WD have still to cast rain of frogs as much as possible to spawn more fetishes, plus using sharknado for debuff/control; Barb's ancients are just a complimentary skill (imho) and most of their damage relies on other things for leapquake/raekor; Crusader ponies are an actively cast/spammed skill.
Firebird set is more passive and imho should be tackled too - you put hydra/rain of fire down and let the dot kill enemies for you.
Then it comes to DH - we put down sentres that for 30 seconds just does the job for you. You don't cast anything offensive but sentries and just use the wolf cd and SS/vault to get you out of stuff. It's not like you're going easymode all of a sudden, but you're literally not casting anything but sentries (exception is the M6 lighting build with EA - that is a very cool and fun build).

The change to M6 on PTR at the moment is crazy strong and really fun to play. T6 is rediculous, drop sentry, hit cluster arrow, everything is dead, rinse, repeat. My gear is awful but I was clearing greater rifts much faster than on live. Blizz may have to tone down the damage on this set before it goes live but this sure as hell is not a nerf at the moment.
I would hope they would just bring the damage of other classes up instead of nerfing DH's damage. I was under the impression that Grifts went to level 100, so I would imagine there's a lot of room to buff classes rather than nerf.

instead of asking all these questions to people responding how about you just go on PTR and check it out the changes. everyone who;s tried it so far on PTR is saying its awesome and once you do you'll change your mind also and prolly stop with the whining about DHs being nerfed and just be blown away on how OP the new change to the set is
