I personally run CDR on all the pieces that I could have had Sentry skill damage instead. I feel the benefits of getting down 4 sentrys ASAP is more important then waiting longer just to have your sentrys hit a little harder.
Really depends on how much cool down reduction you can get. If you can get 2-3 seconds off the 6 second cool down then it makes more sense, but only getting 1 second, I would prefer the 15-30% extra damage.
50% should be obtainable, but 47-48% is very doable and probably adequate easily.
This is incorrect - Unless you can find it on a perfectly rolled amulet where you don't loose crit dmg/cc/elemental dmg. If you don't wear your T&T if your physical and wear marauders gloves instead which you would have to roll CDR on but saying this is obscured if your wearing 6 piece marauder - please be more productive with your feedback instead of blatantly suggesting how something is easily attainable without proper research.
Okay, lets get nit picky. I said, it's doable. I said it's obtainable, I said it's easily adequate.
I didn't say it's easily obtainable.
But my mistake, I was basing this off another build and it's at 47.8ish% CDR,.
I would say if you've put as much work into researching the build you want, as you put into your reply above, you don't need anyone's opinion.
As the title states - This was not about how to acquire a higher amount of CDR but if people prefer to run Sentry damage bonus or CDR. I don't need to do reseach on how to obtain higher CDR. Each one has a trade off and I wanted to gather othre DHs opinon on the subject. Thanks
Well since +Sentry dmg and +cluster dmg synergize well together, I rather lost couple second for an even more hard hitting CA from turrets.
Depends on how much % damage you can obtain vs amount of CDR you can obtain - in my circumstance were talking about 30% (Max) vs. 2 seconds off Sentry CD
I will probably have both sets and just do testing.
sentry damage have a potential of 45% more damage over 30 seconds, against 2 or max 3 seconds to drop another one sooner to shot for a long time without a great damage loss, so i prefer sentry damage, unless to low lvl torment, but, in low torment, i think that we have better options without sentries
This is my CDR Calamity M6 build for group play.I can use both sentry/cdr and swap (manually) to my Chanon Bolter 26xx for Elites after sentries and MFD.
In a fight lasting longer than some arbitrary amount % damage will be better.
I don't have the patience to do the math on the arbitrary fight length at the moment. But it is all about how long you need to do damage. I'd say that if your damage is adequate for reasonable clearspeed without the CDR more damage will be better than more CDR becaus emore damage is more DPS, whereas more CDR is top DPS sooner.
noob here - to make the OP dilemma more complicated;
-MR4 bonus + extra 2 wolfs from garwulf + t&t is it bad or good to go for +% companion damage rather than sentry damage? What/how big is the difference?

I'll w8 until MR6 acquired, before doing smt silly anyway..
It'll be even more worthless on high level GRifts with the massive HP numbers on everything.
