Has anyone made a build around this yet? I am thinking your face survivable DH using suriken cloud / evasive fire with armor rune. Need help though on min/maxing the build.
This is just a theme build I want to try for challenge of it and being really different.
Hi guys - since i've noticed that there are a lot of threads popping with questions about how to build your DH and what upgrades to aim for, i made this thread so everyone has a unified reference to search info or ask questions. So feel free to ask anything and give answers.
Any help request not posted here will be automatically merged with this thread.
Chains of Torment Sentry -Has anyone found a build or use this at all? Trying to figure out what its good for or how to use it right or if their is some sort of build around it.
I just got a Manticore as well last night and wondering the same thing. I also got a Bombadiers Rucksack so I am running with a Sentry build that works really well for me right now in T2-T3
Is it better to use a 2H or 2 x 1H with Crit gems. I really dont want to get rid of my quiver just yet....
If anyone has any advice on my skill build and passive I would appreciate it. I want to get the most out of my build.
I have seem streamers using calamity as a secondary weapon (dex/vit/socket) over quivers (dex/vit/crit/ias/+skill dmg). Is that better? Has anyone here tested this?
2H crossbows helps a lot if you are using Sentries and Companions. The damage is higher, but since they are slower, your hatred refill is a little more unreliable. The best damage output now is perfect rolled 1h crossbows. The 130% crit damage is better than a quiver if you already have enough crit chance (thats why natalyas slayer is always in these combos). I'm keeping a Buriza when I got enough physical gear so I can try out a druid or a fan of knives build (they dont care about AS at all). My Kridershot is for a cold build. But my main spec right now (fire) works better with 2 1h crossbows.
Now I am wanting to get into a fire build and I have a read few guides here and there but currently I don't have all the pieces. And so I would like some advice on improving my current gear. Any feedback would be helpful.

Well, calamity is strong because of the special - it basically says "+20% to all damage" so there's literally nothing that beats that. The interesting thing is that the Calamity doesn't need to be a standard socket/dex/flat dmg/dmg% weapon, mostly because you're going to lose a lot of toughness.
You get 15% as by dualwielding + archery passive, so a dex/vit/socket Calamity will be more than good.
@Antibob: This is the demon hunter sub section and you only have a level 70 barb so...
@Wormskull: Short answer: All of your gear. Seriously, your gear is nowhere near perfect so every single peice you have needs to be upgraded. Start off by getting a legendary version of every armor slot and the best way to that is gambling at Kadala.
Well, you have a couple of pieces like legs that have 2 stats only - you can craft much better yellow gear from blacksmith for a very quick boost. Other than that Jamoose has already said it - you need to farm for legendary items.
As a pointer, i tend to focus on all offensive stats for jewelry/gloves, since they can roll all of them. As for survival stats, give you have enough hp, go for AR/armor to boost your toughness.
Haha figured as much. Just started gearing up about 2 days ago. I've been gambling at Kadala like crazy and slowly been upgrading some stuff. First goal is Cindercoat then hopefully DW Weapons.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/deathweaver-1939/hero/1620844 is my profile and i had just gotten the cloak of garwulf yesterday, and i also had the beckon sail with 3 socket and 466 dex, but the downside is garwulf had movement speed which i can take out from paragon point and put more into dex, overall i calculate on paper dps is about the same so asking opinion on which will be better

The special affix of Garwulf is really powerful. If you have found that spreadsheet dps is more or less the same, Garwulf is definitely an upgrade.

Ok but the cloak now is with 2 socket, is it possible to reroll from 2 socket to 3?
Trying to gear up my DH but I think I am pretty much at the limit of what Kadala can help with other than the lottery of trying to get a Calamity or some slightly better pants (rolling 2x socket hates me and not sure I should waste any more shards on the ones I have 1mill per roll atm)
Long term goal would be to run druid build but seeing as I am 0/6 Marauder pieces that is likely a long way off, so until then it's generic fire. I have a 2 socket Cindercoat (could roll it to 3, current roll is decent Dex, AC, 2 socket on primary) but especially for solo play the Wolves make nice tanks which seems to help survivability a tonne.
Short term my biggest issue at the moment seems to be survivability. 780 all resist, roughly 36% dodge, 6k ish AC.
Finally I'm not sure I understand the %elemental damage bug correctly. If I understand correctly, does it mean that every alternate attack made with the Daenetta essentially does no extra damage from skill modifiers? I had a bit of a look around for a decent post explaining it but not sure I was looking in the right place.

yes, you can. Sockets are treated as a single affix, so you can roll up to 3 sockets in the same way youy can roll up to x% crit on an item. Chest have maximum 3, pants maximum 2, the rest (if possible) can have only one.

Thinking something like thishttps://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#UQkeYf!VfcU!aYbcba.
I am not sure how I would make it tanky enough for it to work lol but maybe I could manage.
Is there any shield or melee weapon to consider in a build like this dont mind being limited to none bow skills.
Are they any good Sentry based builds out there for T1 - T2 ?
Here is my profile and skills:

First time poster, long time lurker on these forums so here it goes!
I currently DW the Danetta's (no Calamity or Nat Slayer yet) and they are both in the 2600+ dps range..
Now, what would you guys prefer between DW the Danetta's or go for a perfect rolled quiver?
