Since they all roll relatively equal ranges of every stat, we have to basically roll with a 2h XBOX (not just a bow) due to our Archery talent giving us 50% crit damage from it to maximize output. I believe that alone decides it, as there's really no other incentive to differentiate. DW isn't even a thing due to quivers being as OP as they are-- don't forget equipping a second weapon may actually drop your dps if it's not as strong or stronger than your mainhand weapon, while equipping a quiver never gives negative benefits.
However, all weapon choices are strong right now, and it's not 2H CROSSBOW OR DIE like it was with Manticores in vanilla. If you can manage DW, it'd probably be with a Cataclysm and the Act 5 bounty 1h's, sockets and high dex rolls, strafe spec.
DPS-wise 1handers are way beter, people seem to forget dualwielding xbows give you 15% atk speed and an extra socket and just this socket alone gives such a boost in dmg I mean +/- 250% crit dmg from your weapons alone is insane.

They should change some skills that cost hatred a second not per attack or something.
Funny how when you equip two 1h's it's usually lower dps than a 1h and quiver huh? Don't remember a 15% attack speed boost anywhere, more like reduction. DH skills aren't attack speed friendly because most of them aren't channeled, low cost abilities. 250% crit hit damage IS a lot- but it's so rare to find two strong 1h's with sockets than it is any 2400+ dps weapon + a strong quiver (which doesn't come with the dual wield penalty). A 2h gives you more sheet dps, end of story, but 1h's possibly give more actual dps in something like a Strafe spec.

Do your resereach before you doubt someone.
You can go ingame put on two 1handers and literallysee your attack speed go up 15%, next to the fact that it is common knowledge (other wise there would be no use to dual wield).
I got 2 1handers right now and my dps is 1mil any quiver lowers this number.
Armory pls, would love to see your amazing 1h's that can beat a quiver. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/badglad-1719/hero/4211079 use my quiver for an example. It doesn't have the % damage affix on it yet, but I'm sure it's still decent enough for comparison.
Now my 1h aren't amazing and your quiver is pretty good but let's see the actual difference between my off hand and your quiver
My offhand gives 120% cdamage 655 dex 15% attack speed
Your quiver gives 10% cchance 735 dex 18% attack speed
As you can see that even with my sucky 1hander the difference wouldn't be that much and depending on your gear 10% crit or 120% crit dmg can either be really good.
However I would really like a good quiver and a 2hander over my set-up now
I would argue that dw 1h's can be good, but you'd need two incredibly strong ones. Like very, very strong. If your helltrapper had maybe 150ish more dps, and your MH had 2500, I would agree that 1h dw can beat any quiver. The problem is in getting two very strong weapons, and even then it depends on the rest of your gear which way you swing. I think that 130% chd....is OP, and it's really hard to beat, but quivers come with huge dex, aspd, crit, % skill affix, and even +disc (obviously this a perfect quiver). 1h's are lucky to come with DEX and a socket if they have decent dps.
Your thoughts? I'm also curious about why you don't run Strafe as dw, I thought that would beat any other option while clearing up mobility options as well
I've always hated remaking my spec for aoe/single target, so I've always run one that maximizes aoe while still keeping strong single target at the same time. This does gimp me into having 1 hatred generator and spender so I can run utility on the other 4 to support my build. That rapid fire build with the rights items/talents is indeed very, very fappable, but like you said, it's awful for aoe,and 95% of the game is aoe.
I love theorycrafting all the builds, and in fact DH's have a ton of fun ones-- it's just that since we bring little utility, need to be the big damage bringers, and that maths out to only a few choices. That's why I advocate builds that are 100% useful for any and all kind of encounters with little to no gear requirements, which does lead to a static and arguably boring spec.
Yeah, I believe Kridershot with frost arrow is the strongest combo in game, since it allows us to regen Hatred with a generator twice as strong as the next closest, while also hitting a minimum of 11 targets in a cone. It alone almost takes care of all your aoe dps needs, allowing you to choose either more abilities to supplement it (another dps cooldown) or to pick up a strong single target skill (or Fan of Knives, used in melee range as it has no cast time/animation and can be used during shots of Elemental Arrow).
Only downside is the frost damage won't scale with % damage (since we usually stack fire), unless you literally gear only around using free Frost Arrows(could be good with the leg that makes you do more damage at full resource).
few days back i grabed my kridershot with nice stats...
playing nothing but that.. ele arrow with items all on it + cold dmg is hitting 11m crits .. have no idea what i could have as nuke since nothing hits as ele arrow atm
manticore hits even more, around 14m and im having a blast

However the problem is that not many DH skills are Attack speed friendly meaning they cost too much hatred because you shoot so fast. So if you would go for actual dps over sheet dps get an 2h bow (preferably http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/kridershot or http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/burizado-kyanon).

Which is insane, the hatred regen from marked for death (4 hatred per hit) gave me enough hatred to keep up rapid fire
I did like 10+ hits per second which worked well with helltrapper and could get up to 6 turrets which all get increased dmg again from my passive
I could burst down any boss in matter of seconds.
However I had literally no aoe at all so trash was anoying and I just went with this build which is more supportive for groups

Or
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/kridershotwith as much Attack speed as possible + frost arrow
