ok, i got all the weapons (well, weak ones), and i really need to understand what would be better, but i can't seem to be able to by just switching them, so i ask you, out of these 3 combinations (bow, xbow, double hbow), which do you think it's better ?
you think so?
a socket windforce sounds nice, but from what i see it's at about 20m with average dps of 1200, to have 70-100% crit (right now), while a a good legendary 1h-bow (20-40m) has 170-200, higher speed and 20% less average damage, but got also marked for death (12 % more damage, lowers the gap with the bow, honestly i'm thinking about removing vault from my build to put this skill) and can switch a second hbow for loh to handle reflect elites (if 800 is enough, i could put a gem to raise that to 1100), the thing i don't know it's how would it perform (wish i could try), and more importantly, how would it on higher MP (i play mp4 and am striving to kill some elites, will lower to 2 probably, key aren't dropping at all anyways), where monster have really too much hp.
It's going to depend a bit on what build you use. If you're using big hatred spenders like Cluster Arrow, you're going to want to use Manticore. If you're using Elemental Arrow or Chakram, faster weapons can be nice for spamming the field.
I have a similar Windforce and Manticore, and I prefer the Windforce playstyle because of its speed. That said, The manticore is like 20k DPS better due to the crit damage. Your cutoff point is going to depend on your critical chance. If you have 30% or so, the difference will be smaller, but as you climb up to 40 or 50% crit chance, Manticore's extra crit damage just blows everything else away. So right now I'm using the Manticore, trying to get used to the slower attack speed.
I guess everybody just blindly assumes Manticore is the best? None of those items are super high-end rolls, but let's actually look at the numbers, since all claims here are that Manticore is best for crit damage (according to the build he linked, he's not using Archery):
Manticore
81% (Bow)
70% (Gem) 151% CD
Hand XBows
60% + 51% = 111% (Bows)
70% + 70% = 140% (Gems - assuming the same quality gems in his xbows as is in his Manticore) 251% CD
So, basically, if you use your Hand Xbows over Manticore, you gain 100% CD (or 50% CD and 10% Crit Chance if you were to pick up Archery), 841 LoH, and a good bit of attack speed. The crit chance from Archery could be made up by your quiver, but you're not getting CD or LoH on a quiver, so it seems to me that your Hand Xbows are always going to be better. (Granted, I'm no expert...if you're really curious for the "correct" answer, I'd recommend finding a good DPS calc and plugging everything in there.)
i have 38% crit (41 with follower), i removed archery cause it's totally clear to the eye, with SS i crit a lot more, without i can shoot 7 times without a crit, and 50% crit damage lose against more crits, but i'm not really searching for the "correct" answer as in what does more damage, i just wanna know what is better to play without having to flee 70% of the time because both potion and preparation are on cooldown, loh seems the only way as windforce isn't healing me for that much (2.8 = 0.56%, that means 56 life every 10k damage, divided by the coeff.. that's kinda useless when you get 1.4k damage reflect doing 20k), and the loh on xbows is the same as hbow, so with 2 i'd get "double" the loh (imagining i can afford good ones, these two i have now are just low budget to try a bit)
Manticore becomes better once you get 2 sockets. Other benefits to it are that its minimum damage is higher, so on average, your base damage rolls will be bigger and translate into higher crits. The fact that none of your bows have dex on them is not great. The benefit from going a two hander is that you can get 200 odd dex on a quiver pretty cheap and combine it with some vit/CC/disc for more survivability and a bit of dam.
1 handers can compete if you have godly ones, as in socket, natural CD and high dex plus high dps, which are pretty expensive but fun to play with, otherwise a 2 hander wins and generally xbows > bows but always depends on the rolls on the items.
I'd try and sell your windforce and manticore put the money from both into a better crossbow. With the amount you'd get you could probably get a 1100-1200dps xbow with 200+ dex on it and a socket. Or even a double socket manticore if you're lucky
Problem with attack speed is that most of the time you will have to kite, so even with full attack speed, you will be able to shoot 2-3 times for less dmg then you would with a higher dmg / crit dmg Xbow. I have 46% crit chance and near 400% dmg and I use spike traps and multi shot with suppression fire for the disc regen. If you dont want to run you can pretty much stand still as long as you have Hatred to shot Multishot, with shadow power gloom On. Works very well against reflect dmg and thats why I use Spike traps. something like 500k crit dmg with shadow power on and your at full life while enemy go down pretty quickly. Just gotta know how to use it well.
All in all, my point is great attack speed is nice while grouping, but when you are soloing you want the most dmg per shot.
Personal opinion.

this is my actual build http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aiVhXd!TfY!cabbZY
but i'm not so sure about hungering arrow, it's powerful with the xbow, but i feel like it's not getting me much cover, if you know what i mean
