Getting burned out because I been playing pretty much 4-5 hours a day since game went live. Have every class at 60 and at some point in Inferno but never tried a DH. Right now I have a monk with a very nice MF set that lets me faceroll Act 1 while having 325 MF with 5 stacks. But Im wondering if that will be crappy for a DH? My monk only has 1450 Dex, 12.50 crit chance, 180% crit damage, and 18% attack speed so offensively shes pretty weak. But I do have 29k health and 596 resists. If I would want to be able to farm Act 3 using a DH what would my stats need to be and how should I modify my current stats?
Also how good are Demon Hunters at farming these days? All I hear about now are OP barbs LoLing through Act 3 in like 30 minutes then going back and picking up all the loot. Or wicked wind wizards just facetanking everything and never having to move out of stuff like desecrate, molten, plagued, etc. For Act 3 is a DH still a good choice? I like my monk but Im afraid its gonna take more gold than Fort Knox to be able to farm Act 3 as a monk. If I had the gold I would just make a tornadow Barb but all my friends have told me just roll a DH if you wanna farm Act 3 but dont have tons of gold. I mean can I just slap on my monk's Gear and just get a 1200+ DPS bow with 100% crit and go to town? Or is there still a lot of WTF just one shot me? Also how do DHs even heal themselves?
DH are good at farming act3, so they are still a good choice, but i don't think they take much more gold than a monk to farm act3. There is plenty of WTF just one shot.....and no you don't heal yourself ( except with shadow power ) b/c you die to 1 hit if you go glass cannon ( imo recommended )
OK watching streams of people with average DH gear playing alts I assume and they just get owned. Im seeing people get 1 shot by stuff in Act 1 that I facetanked with a wizard. Seeing people get 1 shot by white mobs. Is this a class you need 200 mil to even try? In order to faceroll Act 3 like Athene was doing how much gear would you need? Also how long would it take to farm up gear like that? I can farm Act 1 with my monk but thats it so how long would it take you farming Act 1 to equip a DH that can just walk all over Act 3 similar to a Tornado Barb?
im farming act 3 with my dh and i have 1930 dex,350+- vit [and %life on some of my items,so i have somthin like 14k hp],44.50 crit chance,317 crit dmg,2.00 attack speed,46 discpline [very very important for dh].my dps is 111k w/o sharpshotter.
Well if you want to facetank and do dps at the same time with a DH it will cost you. Otherwise, 200 million is a myth, DHs can be geared up fairly easy, a decent weapon will cost you 20-30 million, but otherwise you don't need top notch gear at all.
Just don't get hit. Seriously, with Smoke Screen and a bit of training, nothing will hit you. Glasscannon DH is not a spec you can play drunk or tired ofc, but it works
I do act 3 on my DH with 55k damage (105k with SS), 25k hp and ~400 AR. A lot of things 1shot me if I let them hit me, and not only the elite ones... phase beasts, blood clan occultists (aka goatman casters), blazing ghouls (those little guys that climb up the side after you pass), those little spider/scorpion things, spiderlings on Cydaea, etc.
The funny thing is I've made it a point to look for vit and AR on all my pieces, or at least some armor or something. But it's not enough, you need a full suit of gear rolled to within 90-95% of perfect stats in order to be comfortable in act 3+. This is done intentionally by Blizz to encourage RMAH usage. So whatever, you learn to just not get hit. Just don't play if you're not mentally 100%, play another game or an alt or something instead if you're not up to the task.
Edit: Just saw the guy above say the same thing, agreed. Great band, btw.
