I joined pretty decent groups and made it to Act 2 inferno quest 6.
however, i cannot get past inferno act 1 quest 3 by myself. i cant take on elites solo without dying and the repair costs are to great to keep trying and dying just to kill them.
so i cannot farm even act 1.
what am i doing wrong?
as he said , farn a3-4 hell for 8-10 hours and you should have upgrades that should last you through a2 inferno and for a1 farming. also don't dismiss defensive stats so easely

Post stats w/o sharp shooter enabled so we can see your true damage and crit chance.
My recommendation is that you drop the 1h xbow for a 2h xbow or bow. You are missing a lot of IAS (as most people are), you will probably want to stick with the bow. Surprise you only have 1.8 APS with the two 1h, you should be at 2-2.5+ atleast. Anyways, the build I recommend below works better with bows until you have a lot of damage.
From what I gathered, you are missing a lot of critical stats. Stack +Dex/Crit Dmg/Crit Chance for the most gains for cheap. You have a whole 110% crit damage.
Gear upgrade you want to look for. This is what I call budget gear. Find them with less dex if required, you have to MIN+MAX with what you can afford.
Helm w/ 100+ dex, and crit chance, socket is nice but not required
Shoulder w/ 130-140 dex, no other stat required, vitality/all resist is nice
Cloak w/ Max Disc, aim for 80+ base dex w/ 3 socket
Amulet w/ 80 Base Dex+Crit dmg (40-45%+)
Gloves w/ 160-180 dex+Crit Dmg (20%+)
Rings with 60+ Dex w/ Crit Dmg (15%+)
Belt w/ 140+Dex
Pants with 120-130 Base Dex+2 Socket
Boots with 160+ Dex w/ 10%+ Movemovemnt Speed
Quiver w/ 14%+ IAS, 80 Dex, Crit Chance, Disc
As far as skillset and passives, that depends on your playstyle.
Recommendation-Core Passives: Archery (20% dmg to 2h bows, or 50% crit dmg to 2h xbow)
Steady Aim for 20% dmg for Monster if not within 20 YD of you
Other Options: Tactical Advantage ( works well with vault, smoke screen, evasire fire backflip),
Cull of the Weak (15% damage vs slow target, works well with frost arrow, entangling shot, caltropes, anything that slow)
Sharpshooter (if you have low crit chance, this will boost your dps by a bit, do not be fooled by the final number on your stat sheet, that is not your true dps, stack crit dmg if you want to use this, the higher crit chance you have, the less effective this passive is).
There is so many viable builds, but for starting out I would recommend:
Hatred Generator: Hungering Arrow (Puncture or Devouring), You will probably have higher overall dps with puncture than devouring due to the higher proc rate. Hungering arrow is seeking if you aim in the general area which is also nice; great for sniping too.
Hatred Dump: Frost Arrow (along w/ Cull of the Weak) for kiting
Smoke Screen (lingering fog) or Shadow Power (gloom), works best if you have +vit/all resist
Caltrops (either Hooked spines or Torturous Ground is ok, I would prefer the 80% slow on hooked spines personally)
Raining Vengeance (either Stampede or Flying Strike), this work against elite packs really well, even invuln packs. A knockback or stun will help you kite a bit more, or unload a truckload of damage.
Preperation (eiher Backup Plan or Invigoration) Pref. I like Backup even if its more RNG, if you do proc, its very nice
15k health is your problem. Unless you're really good at avoiding damage, you're going to get 1 shot by just about everything with that amount of health. There are demon hunters that do that (especially pre 1.0.3), but it's not easy, and it can be very frustrating. You also need really high DPS to pull off glass cannon effectively, so that you can kill stuff before it has a chance to one shot you.
Get your health up, and you'll find it much easier to survive.
15k Health means you get one shotted by just about anything in act one, on top of that, you have no caltrop/smoke screen/gloom which means aside from vault you have no panic button at all, and vault is certainly not a 100% catch all skill.
Get more vit - item with only vit / dex should be pretty cheap these days, improvement just 2-3 gear with vit would be awesome.
Get a helm with a socket and insert a Life% gem on it ASAP.
Skill wise you absolutely need either smoke screen or shadow power gloom as your panic key and preperation to refill you Disc. I would also recommend caltrop for further CC. You should get rid of impale as your crit damage / chance is nowhere near enough to take advantage of what impale can do, you should also get rid of rain of vengeance as the cool down on that skill is simply too long to be worth using. I'd also recommend getting rid of your bat because without impale you will only have elemental arrow as a hatred dump and you should rarely have problem with hatred generation. (Hint get the templar as your partner and get the regen skill as his final skill, it raises your regen from 3 to 6 which is massive!).
Yeah drop sharpshooter. If you're using 1h xbows, you have insane AS and a flat 10% crit already from archery. You're gaining very little real dps from ss with 1h xbows.... You can take a few things in place of it, like cull the weak for more damage, or tactical advantage for more mobility.
Or, drop the 1h xbows in favor of a bow/xbow. 2h xbows are cheapest and you can get a decent starter wep for 200k easily. Obviously you need a quiver when you do that, so look to pick up one with +max disc and (ideally) crit chance.
Now, you don't need 4 offensive abilities. The DH class works best when you run a generator and a spender, with the other abilities selected for utility. You can throw in something for utility like reign of vengeance or w/e the 30sec cd aoe stun "offensive" ability is. But for the most part, look to use only 2 abilities for damage.
For spenders..... well, impale... impale rather sucks with 1h xbows, and imo isn't worth using even with 2h bows. It's made for nuke builds, so a slow, HIGH damage wep like an xbow is ideal for that. (I personally use impale because I can 1 shot most a3 mobs with a single crit, but im built for that, with a slow xbow and heavy crit/critdmg.) Just understand that impale is NOT efficient use of hatred at 275% wdmg and 25 hatred -- it is instead efficient use of attacks (read:burst). You get a lot of damage out with a few attacks, then go back to kiting/generator. Like others have suggested, go with some version of ele arrow (frost is my personal preference for a1, as you can largely kite in a line to max frost's effectiveness).
For generators, hungering is fine, and seems to play well with high AS and crit, which you get with 1h xbows. The splinter of bones rune is ideal with sufficient crit, as it's 50% dmg aoe on crits, and you get +10% crit from archery. Most HA runes are good though. As an alternative to HA, you can also use evasive fire/covering fire. It's 3x shots at 125% wep damage. Less single target, but its more damage overall if you hit 2 targets and generates 4 hatred per shot instead of 3. The backflip can be annoying at times, but generally it's not a bad side effect. I'd use tactical advantage if you're going to use EF though, as you get a free sprint on every backflip.
Prep/ss is pretty standard and has been the cornerstone of cookiecutter DHs since the beginning. Rune for lingering fog, and (imo) invigoration is your best rune unless you want to roll the dice on backup plan. SS eats 14 disc, so your goal is to pick up +disc where you can (1h xbows, quivers, DH chests can have it). Getting 40-50disc makes your life much much easier as you can ss 3x in a single disc bar, and then 4x more when you prep with invigoration. Understand that SS clears ccs on you, makes you untargetable, and makes you immune to almost all damage. Unless you have significant defensive stats (and arguably 4pc nats), shadow power isn't quite enough survivability. You can use it in a1, but you will find that as you progress, the 65% dmg reduc of gloom doesn't quite match the 100% damage reduc of smokescreen. This does change of course as you get higher resist/vit/armor.
Root traps are insanely powerful for 6 disc
Vault is fine to keep, though you can't often afford 8 disc when you're spending most of your disc on ss or shadow power. Consider runing for 0 cost vault. The 15sec cd isn't THAT bad when your real defense is from another ability.
My week 1 progression build was this. I cleared a1 with 16k dps using this build.
EF/covering
Ele/frost arrow
root traps
ss/lingering fog
prep/backup plan
vault/15sec cd
