we are in the forums for demon hunters and i use the following
scoundral
for "progression" even tho ive killed diablo so i pretty much just mf
Templar
Magic find plain and simple currently i stack mf and vitality Armor isnt as useful to a point I do my math on him based on the fact he is never gonna heal and the 2.5x due to bonus for stats
currently he sits with about 43% reduction from mf a shitty 50 all resist and a massive 121 k health and buffs my mf by 17% so hand down the best can take 1-2 hits max (up to 4 from specific minions) in a3/4 but whatever all i care about is MF!
i mainly use the templar but best overall if ur trying to just kill shit is scoundral mines up to 8k dmg mainly just stack agi and ias and the reason i say this is pretty much just highest dmg and crippling slow is a fuckton 60% is nutz
enchantress i dont get why you all love her... like i see armor and stuff like that but this is the Demonhunter and well i get one shot and im pretty sure most decent demon hunters went glass cannon build.
I don't really see how one could consider taking enchantress.
Except for the armor aura if you play with a lot of hp.
The scoundrel gives you far more damage boost (10% half the time) and the templar can block or distract enemies.
i found the scoundrel to do some pretty depressing dmg too even when geared also. I geared my enchantress decently (and inexpensively) using a pretty decent 1000ish DPS Rare 2h weapon that I found and bought some cheap mass int+vit rings neck and follower special and her damage is actually pretty damn decent. Her force push (which I find to be quite helpful when kiting) hits for over 20k in inferno and her auto attacks hit 5k. She can also amp monsters for 10% dmg but it can be hard to tell if its active.
My scoundrel on the other hand lists about 1.5k more damage on the follower screen and yet hits much weaker with no "nuke" ability. The only thing moderately useful about him is his last 2 abilities (the on crit -> 10% dmg or 3% passive crit) or if you were to equip him with a frost dmg weapon + multishot to slow down enemies. Though that would require him to be alive for a chance of some additional utility.
The only time I ever use the templar is for his magic find. Past act 1 he wasn't surviving any more hits than the other 2 while providing "less utility." A heal? Please, I was going to get 1 shot regardless
the heal is more useful i find then alot of abilities out there being a demon hunter with about 170k dmg the onlything out there that kills me is invul minions and reflect dmg.... and heal helpz a ton with reflect dmg my loh bow doesnt keep me up that well.
I used the Templar all the way up through Inferno Diablo for a few reason. Clutch heal against reflect, snare when mobs hit him, AoE knockback. However, I recently decided to give the Scoundrel a second try. I tried him last in normal. I had some nice gear sitting around for him. 243 Dex token, some 60 dex+15% IAS rings, 110dex+15% IAS ammy, and a 900 damage bow with IAS and cold damage. Set his abilities as snare, blind, multishot, and 10% damage on crit. Never. Looking. Back. He's up at 7k dps(compared to the 300 my 119k templar had) and has about 2.1 APS, keeping constant snares on just about everything because of the cold damage. His blind is epic and he uses it perfectly(since he stays near you most of the time). He's such an upgrade for farming inferno ponies compared to the templar.
Templar in places where there are ranged enemies, scoundrel for whimsy. Since everything in whimsy is melee, you stick a frost bow on the scoundrel and with his multishot skill, it's basically permanent caltrops level slow on everything. They die before they get to me.
Scoundrel for dps/crit% boost. Love seeing those yellow damage text!
Doesn't die as much as the templar or enchantress, so aura is up most of the time.
Blind is surprisingly good.
Templar is useless.
Enchantress is decent, but dies more than scoundrel. With IAS being nerfed, maybe her aura will be amazing. I don't use the charm because I find myself just killing everything so fast short of elites.
