Hey everyone,
I looked through few threads and could not find what I was looking. The main purpose of this thread is to help out your fellow Demon Hunters.
Q: What is a good place to farm on Inferno Act 1?
A: I used to do a lot of butcher run. I can't remember the exact quest name, I believe it is called "Imprisoned Angel". Basically you start off with killing the warden quest. You generally get enough stacks by the time you butcher. If due to RNG you do not have 5 stacks by the time you get to Butcher, go to the cemetery checkpoint and go in any one of the crypts. There will be a blue guy waiting for you.
Q: What is a good place to farm on Inferno Act 2?
A: None... Act 2 is horrible for DH's I try to go through it as quick as possible
Q: What is a good to farm on Inferno Act 3?
A: 1) I have done 2 seigebreaker runs. Apparently these run are pretty painless depending on your gear and skills. I will start at the "Crossing Quest" I will make my way to the Siegebreaker door and then I will teleport back and take the "bridge of koriskk" check point I will try to get my 5 stacks up in the catapult area. That area usually has 5 to 6 elite mob encounters.
2) I have also heard of the chest runs before... not entirely sure what that is.. can someone please post information about it? thanks!
Q: What is a good place to farm on Inferno Act 4?
A: I have not done Act 4 yet, once I am on it... I will update this information. I am sure someone will mention good farming spots in Act 4
Ok, that is about it for now... If you know a better place than I do.. please share that information with everyone else
The invisible snakes really destroy me... I can't slow them down or kite them... i have to use caltrop and SS to kill those annoying things... but I will give Maghda a try..
and Yes make sure you have 5 stacks before killing warden.. I missed that part out
Act1 - I start off hitting Crypts to ensure as many stacks as possible before even hitting Agony 2. Side note - I got my only good item from these runs in Crypts (Nat chest piece with above avg stats)
EDIT: Also if you cannot get to Warden/Butcher due to fresh in Inferno, Crypts + Skelly King. If this is too hard as well, there are some easy dungeons pre-Adria's Celler including it you can farm with random cellar openings and the mass-grave sometimes spawns and has a resplendid. There are elites/golds/goblins in these cellars that can help you gear up better than Hell farming.
Act2 - Magda runs starting after canyon (rituals) or ZK runs, start quest to kill him but then head to the north and south terminus areas (avoid shadow realm, glass cannons can be chewed apart in there) to build stacks.
Act3 - Siegebreaker Runs. After killing him the first time, start quest Kill SB, teleport to last WP (should be 2nd bridge) get Tyrael, now you have several options for stacks. 1 - Teleport back to keep, go out Arreat Gate then go down into Forti Bunker or Forti Barracks. Iv seen anywhere between 3-10 Elite/Champs + a Resplendid. 2 - Again Arreat Gate, then go outside and do event(s) that may spawn, search around here, there can be 1-2 "dungeons" and on top of one has a chance to spawn a Resplendid. The chest spawns on top of a flight of stairs, sometimes there are NPC guards that when you go up get jumped by leaping lepers that explode into poison clouds on death. Easy indicator if this chest is spawned, if the stairs are blocked by destructible blockade, chest is there, if not no chest. When you open this chest some winged molok come after you. 3 - Head to Bridge of Korrisk or w/e (ballista zone) and kill things. Whatever choices get 5 stacks, go back to last WP, do underbridge if its there (easy resplendid sometimes) then go kill SB.
Act4 - Havnt even tried it yet, will add anything later on you miss or just how I do it compared to you/others.
For act 1 warden/butcher runs it is best to run to Festering Woods first instead of the crypts. The 2 "temples" in the woods are like 10 sec apart and there is a guaranteed pack in each and you'll most likely run into 1 or 2 packs in between the 2 temples. Takes me about 2 mins to get 3/4 stacks before I hop into Halls of Agony level 2.
Also on a side note, these packs inside the temples are always skeletons which are as easy as they come!
The chest runs in Act 3 are accomplished by the following:
Starting at the seigebreaker quest, use waypoing and travel to "Rakkis Crossing" to get Tyrael. Use the same waypoing and travel back to the "Bridge of Korsikk". Obtain 4-5 stacks in the open field then go to the cave dungeon that spawns (most of the time I have found it in the southwest or southeast corner, rarely spawns on the northern side). In the save there is a resp chest on the 2nd level. If you were unable to obtain 5 stacks outside in the field, you can get your 5th in this cave. After the cave is clear, teleport out and travel back to Rakkis Crossing, go north on the bridge and enter the "Underbridge" dungeon if it spawned for you. It is found on the left side as you travel towards the Seigebreaker entrance, yellow entrance. In this dungeon there is another resp chest. After that is clear (or if the dungeon did not spawn), continue onward and kill the Seigebreaker.
Act 4 - I've only just recently cleared this place in co-op so I'm not exactly very geared to do it solo yet (corrupted angels, oppressors and terror demons smear their faces with my blood).
A good place to start would be Iskatu along with clearing up till Rakanoth. Iskatu is fairly simple - I use:
1. Bat for hatred regen
2. Hungering Arrow with Spray of Teeth for the AOE
3. Multishot with the rune that restores Discipline on each enemy it hits
4. Caltrops with either 80% slow or 2s root
5. Smokescreen with lingering fog (as always lol)
6. Nether Tentacles or Prep (your choice depending on what works better)
I just spam drop caltrops to kite and use multishot to regen discipline. When Iskatu has all the little adds up each multishot can restore 15 discipline easily, which allows you to spam even more caltrops. When all the adds are dead Iskatu isn't much of a threat.
The area after Iskatu up till Rakanoth has a lot of good spots for kiting (especially the first big area with the staircases leading down to a blessing fountain) so dealing with champions there isn't a problem. Lots of places to LOS stuff like vortex too. Rakanoth is a gear and skill check pretty much, the only way I've reliably killed him is by straight nuking him down with as much DPS as I can pump out lol. More skilled players than I probably have far better strats. If you can beat Rakanoth, you can pretty much clear everything up till Silver Spire or Izual without a problem.
Another farming spot in Act 4 that I use for quick grinding are the 'ghost' bosses at the little intervals before the Silver Spire levels. I skip Leah because the terror demons are annoying as hell, but the 2nd and 3rd ghost bosses are extremely easy for a DH. Just use caltrops with jagged spikes and spike traps with bandolier, stack 5 caltrops and 6 spike traps where the bosses will spawn and watch them explode instantly when they spawn. Collect your blue, repeat. I average 3 blues every 1-2 minutes or so.
I'm currently farming Crypt of the Ancients in A1... to spawn at the checkpoint you have to run the quest, or you can just hop from the WP, here's a video if anyone cares: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzxfhvB5LcI
I can't really touch Act 2+ elites since I'm wearing 226 MF gear... but it's fun farming this Crypt for the elite pack. Lots of regular mobs too, in a small space.

Has been nerfed just recently. Check latest blue posts on the front page.

Seigebreaker was the way to go but his nerf made it a lot harder for melee unless you are real geared

That, or I farm whimsy, and just do a speed butcher run to get 5NV.
