I'm currently farming act 2 and I'm wondering if people roll with the maximum +30 Max Discipline stat? I use +20 and find it very useful. However do other people use it as well? Is it a standard gearing thing to get that +30 then stack everything else secondary?
I have +18 I think, good enough in Act 2.
The maximum is +45 though, not +30, there are legendaries that can have +disc and are not ranged weapons/quivers/cloaks
+10 on quiver and +8 on cloak; wouldn't say it's a requirement but more discipline makes preparation much nicer and flexible with runes so you don't have to take focused mind for max gain.
It depends on your playstyle. I love to use caltrops / vault / preparation / and either SS or mark, so I use a lot of disc. I can manage with just the standard 30, but just using a nice rare quiver with +10 makes things a lot easier. For instance, soloing azmodan I use the extra +10 to SS through his pools =P I'd rate it as pretty high tho a stat.
I also played all the way through act 4 with only the base 30 discipline. Hell i didn't buy a quiver with +discipline until today. That's not to say the stat is worthless; it definitely makes life easier on you. But i guess it's one of those things where you don't miss something you never had in the first place. It's a quality of life stat, but i would hardly say it's indispensable.
I'd also like to add -- discipline on the higher end gear is not cheap. It can make a 500k gold quiver a 1.5 - 2 million quiver easily.
