Ok, im progressing towards Azmodan inferno on my DH, and probably will take him out tonight if I get decent elite packs in few areas before him, but so far there is one thing that completelly confuses me and that is - Cluster Arrow.
I mean so far I have not had a single use of this skill (regardless of rune) that I found suitable. I totally do not understand the point of this skill at all. Really am I missing something? What is the purpouse of Cluster arrow? The area od damage is too small (comparing to multishot), the cost of hatred is incredibly high, (basically two shots) and damage is also somewhat irrelevant when you can shoot Cluster arrow twice and then go hatred starved.
Now Id like your opinions on this, what is this skill bloody good for because it is confusing me to the heavens!
It's like many of the other skills for all the classes, it's an ability you use when progressing, that can be fun to use, but doesn't really work out for you in end game. I messed around with it for a little while, but didn't really like it myself, but perhaps someone has a good way of using, but I haven't seen one yet, it's just too expensive compared to other abilities.

I find cluster extremely useful when I need to burst something/a group down super fast. With sharpshooter at 100%, loaded for bear rune, and high crit damage you can DESTROY things if you aim it correctly.
Few screenshots with average gear on, like 60k dps with sharpshooter stacked http://i.imgur.com/HzpX5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/DDfOn.jpg
Also using rocketeer passive with shooting stars runes is pretty nice also.
The hatred cost is pretty steep but still fun to lolown groups with giant crits
Use Dazzling Arrow rune to stun targets affected with Caltrops-Jagged Spikes. You can stack 5 Caltrops on each other to maximize damage. Enjoy one of the highest aoe burst possible with Demon Hunter. Don't use it on damage reflector elite packs >.<
Dazzling Arrow can be used to reliably stun bosses too. With careful Cluster Arrow placement all four granades will hit and that results in a whopping 96% chance to stun. Bosses usually have large hitboxes, so that's not even that hard. With Marked for Death-Mortal Enemy, Companion-Bat, and Hungering Arrow-Puncturing Arrow hatred regen shouldn't be problem on bosses.
Yes I agree that with Dazzling rune it can work out in few situations. I do agree that also dmg can be "pumped up" nicely, but still, regarding the inferno, I dont believe that there is a single elite pack that can be brought down with 2 hits. And the basic function of Cluster arrow, as I see it is to kill something in 2 hits. I just dont see that happening in Inferno, and plus after the burst is gone your sharpshooter will constantly refresh due to your hunger arrow spam to gain hatred and Cluster arrow will be even less viable. I think it deserves a fix (regarding the hatred cost)
Above is a build that I used in group play when we had difficulties surviving certain encounters and/or areas. With decent gear the damage output is good enough, and the stun really helps reducing incoming damage by a TON. It even interrupts many of the bosses' abilities, an example being the charge ability of the Butcher.
Interesting build. I do see it can work nicely vs elite groups that require stuns to be used (to be honest which one doesnt?), but it also requires decent group and some tanks to work, dont see it as a solo build since kiting capabilities are close to 0. But with good friends to take damage, it seems like a good build.

If I stun a pack on 5 stacks of Jagged Spikes they will die in ONE shot in Act I-II. Well, with my gear at least (60k dps). People underestimate the damage Caltrops can do. It's sick. Keeping mobs on Caltrops is tricky though, and that's where Dazzling Arrow comes in play. Or a tanky monk or barb partner.
