I'll be using the DW Hand Xbows for builds in groups where I'm doing mob control via stuns that are % chance based. Faster shots means more oportunity to keep things on lock down.
Procs are why I love extremely fast, low damage shots instead of the slow single megahits. I've always done much more damage this way. Atma's Scarab was my favorite item from D2, the only ammy I'd put on my 99 Assassin, for this reason. I would Blade Fury a pack for a second or two to spread Amp-Damage everywhere and then let loose. Refreshing was as easy as throwing another Blade Fury every once in a while.
I'm hoping there will be some pretty awesome/unique %on-hit effects in D3. Definitely voted dual crossbows.
This is a tough topic to decide on for me...on the one hand, the DH as a class "feels" the best with dual handxbows, but of the choices I like bows the best. At first when I was thinking endgame, I thought bow+quiver might be best endgame, but now that I think about it some more, I think dual xbows might actually be best. We all know how incredibly good near perfect yellows will, I think they'll probably end up making dual xbows better, but it might take a while for people to find them that good.
Although I think double crossbow is the cooliest. I did some damage calculation and a shield gives you around 10% less damage.
And since the DH doesn't have much healing I think it's going to be extremely helpfull when taking on inferno
I'll probably focus on attack speed when I'm getting my weapons. If you have skills that have lets say 20% chance of slowing 4 monsters I would like to be able to spam as many fast shots as possible to make sure they get actually get snared. I guess it depends, maybe you will even use different weapons for boss fights vs big mob packs.
as much as i want to have 2x hand xbows, i will probably use whatever best weapon i get. i may be one of the few people who think this way. dont plan on really using the RMAH or GAH to get anything, so thats how im gonna roll.
I'm liking the sound of a big Crossbow and going for the big hits. Second would be 2xhand crossbows. I like the crit damage bonus for archery and I think it may use less hatred per shot (If I have that right) for skills like rapid fire. I want to approach a group and waste them without worrying too much about hatred gen. not quite a no hatred build, but a minimum hatred build. I'm definitely not the fastest clicker or micro manager so I think hitting em hard and taking out a good few straight up will suit me alot more. But whatever drops I guess
