Blizzard, Could You Change The Appearance Of The Demon Hunter Resource Globe!?!
Poll: What's your idea on how would you like the resource globe to app
It doesn't say hatred/discipline to me, it just says red/blue (it looks like Blizz just put a life and a mana orb together).

What's your idea on how would you like the resource globe to app - Single Choice
- Bloodpenguin, suggest a more darker shade of red & blue with bubbles rising from both (imagine the bubbles you see risin 0%
- I like the DH's resource, though it looks like the development team just decided to put a life and a mana orb together, 2.2%
- I think the DH resource is fantastic. The hatred looks like light flame of a fire and the discipline looks like moving b 46.7%
- I think it would be cool for the orbs to all have active physics inside. Imagine the Demon Hunter's will have a ripple o 4.4%
- I think the hatred side should have demon faces screaming every so often. If you've seen the giant wall of smoke chasing 2.2%
- There is precedent in-game for red being a "demon" color and blue being "angelic" so it makes sense to have them as hatr 6.7%
- For Hatred, I would imagine some really dark purple or red liquid with some shadow creatures moving in it that you can b 2.2%
- Use flame for Hatred, a red hot smoldering flame (the Demon Hunter's burning desire to kill all of Diablo's minions) & a 6.7%
- I'ld like to see a white & black liquid mix for the Discipline & yeah keep a solid black for Hatred OR Hatred could be b 0%
- I'd rather see Hatred as black, and Discipline as white or something along those lines. 11.1%
- It's fine but Blizz should at least put some "dark" and "black" liquid in there to give it some "dark evil" feel. 17.8%

Compared to the Yin & Yang, do you like the bar Blizzard used to - Single Choice
- I think the system looks great the way it is. 46.7%
- Blizz, if you wont change it, could you at least make the center bar smaller? 6.7%
- Maybe remove the bar, then have the middle be kind of purplish w/ bits of Red & Blue moving around ("fighting"), but hav 6.7%
- I was thinking to not use any line at all. Imagine having the two "liquids" sort of "fight" with each other, trying to s 11.1%
- They should do something with that "gothic" line separating the Hatred/Discipline orb. It would look much better if it w 8.9%
- Yeah. The Demon Hunter resource just sticks out like a sore thumb. I agree, the line splitting it definitely kills the 3 8.9%
- I don't like the Demon Hunter's orb. It's mostly because of the actual "split" graphic. I don't like that they just past 11.1%

In the hype of the impending start of Beta this September & the Finalized Character Resource article posted by Winged (http://www.diablofans.com/news/883-character-resource-page/),
with 2-3 months of Beta testing still to come, there's still time for Blizzard to change the appearance of the current UI resource globe for the Demon Hunter's Hatred (Red Flame) & Discipline (Blue Smoke).
Official Blizzard Quote:
The resource UI never moves. You could cut out a piece of yellow cellophane and tape it over the mana resource circle, turn it green, and then call it whatever you want.
if that's the case, maybe you'll like something like this better:
Hatred (Smoldering Red Flame/the Fires of Hell)
& Discipline (Clouds of Heaven/Billowy White Smoke/Tranquility & Serenity)
Blizzard just simply need to make the change & implement it DURING Beta testing or before Open Beta testing, so they can gather their much needed feedback.
It doesn't need to affect the BETA release date at all.
Then they can make the change final upon the game's release.

My PvP build would be different from these 13.

P.S. What I mean, is there are so many options described too long that I get confused. Some of them seems repetitive. But the point of your poll is worth while.
As I said in the main post about the orbs, I agree it could be a bit better with the colors.. but I by no means dislike it enough to make them change it. I think maken the blue a white liquid with black as well would work nice. Also in the same post about this already, another user posted the same colors.. but hey had bubbles in them.. I liked that one a lot.
I dont think blizzard will change it.. I mean they really dont have a reason to.

Personally, I prefer:
--> a much redder flame signifying the Demon Hunter's Hatred (like a flame being more fiery & full of fury, showcasing the Demon Hunter's zeal in dealing with Diablo's minions)
--> & then a billowy white smoke for Discipline (like the peace & calmness you feel watching the clouds in the sky, depicting the tranquility needed for setting up traps & escaping).

Such as the red look like its coming up (the burning hells trying to break in to the heavens) and the blue look like its falling (the angels descending to battle the demons).
You could also argue for the opposite rotation, like the red is trying to pull the orb down to hell and the blue up to the heavens.
I agree,
the ying-yang curves look nice as a logo but looking at liquid filled globes I think it looks a little confusing, especially when the levels start dropping.
If hatred and discipline got to 20% .... hatred would look almost empty and discipline would still look 3/4 full. Now if you argue on volume rather than height then it would make it even worse and no-one would really know what % was in each half.
So even if that's where Blizzard got the concept, it's better if we use a Sinusoid (Sine Wave) to represent the curve that divides the Demon Hunter's resource into two equal parts.
Would you also make me a mock-up using the color of a fiery red hot flame for Hatred & a cloudy white smoke for Discipline with only a slightly curved variation of the divider?
If you could make me something like this:
Wherein, instead of having a bar in the middle part, Blizzard could replace it with the swirling colors of the flame & clouds, depicting a constant battle between Hatred & Discipline.
Similar to the gothic bar used by Blizzard, that does not disappear even when the Hatred or Discipline resource is depleted, or even when both resources are depleted,
the swirling flame & clouds should always stay in the middle of the globe.
In my opinion, I still prefer Hatred to be represented by the red hot smoldering flames of Hell signifying the Demon Hunter's burning desire to kill all of Diablo's minions avenging his/her loved ones death, and a heavenly cloudy white smoke for Discipline which symbolizes tranquility/pureness/goodness (the Demon Hunter siding with Heaven & fighting for the good of human kind); depicting the peace & calmness needed by the Demon Hunter for setting-up traps & for escape.

Yeah, I think it looks a lot cooler (+1 for you for putting the time into photoshopping it), but as a part of the game that serves as a crucial tool and less as an aesthetic, I think they should stick with the more basic model.
However, I agree that darkening the colors might not be a bad idea; blue struck me as a strange choice for discipline because I've grown accustomed to associating it with mana.
They could have discipline drain up, so they both drain towards the points and are full in the middle. Might still be kinda confusing though.
Dicipline should be light blue.
I didn't vote because the second poll is lacking an option that says the divider line is fine the way it is. The only choices are for some kind of change. Consequently your poll will not be representative of what the people actually want, because I am sure there are more people who feel the same way I do.
I would personally prefer a more "darkish" feel to at least one of her resources (or maybe even both) to reflect her story and overall character design. Black and White would definitely suit things as black being the "blind hatred" she feels against demons and white being the "ease of mind" required to prepare traps and keep cool in escaping tough situations.
Then again, I didn't vote because the poll is a wall of text and has so many options it would make each of them less significant. It's hard to determine what the community would like when you give them 50 candidates for president, instead of just 2 or 3 (making a crappy analogy meaning that less options, and simpler ones, would make the results more meaningful).
I don't think red should be used at all. Red should be saved for health and nothing else. Likewise blue for mana. Having 2 resources look so similar is... kinda dumb IMO
If any should be changed its the Monks.
