i was wondering that if there would be a melee oriented tree for the DH what moves would it have? we have fan of knives so what else would there be and what weapons would we be using. I mean the monk has dibs on martial arts so idk.
plz leave ur opinions on DH melee oriented moves. =D

i meant to put it in the DH section but i suck at te internetz but w/e. its speculation and its fun to think about these possible moves that our awesome class will have to blow shit up. Just wondering what other ppl think because i cant think of any
Well, Blizzard wanted the DH to be the bow hero, but just as the Amazon from D2 it could well have a special melee weapon that could be thrown? (Thinking about throwing knives or such considering its fan of knives skill)
I'm sure she might have a few stun/aggro-reducing melee attacks, something that she can strike the enclosing monsters than book it back to a safe distance once they are incapacitated.

I agree with feminism. I don't think that it's right that for every dollar a man makes, a women gets 70 cents. Why do I only get 30 cents and some chick gets the rest?
Traps are completely viable in helping you stand your ground as a melee demon hunter if ones possible. What better way to force a enemy to stay in a trap than to stand in front of it.
They did say they want to make this class ranged, as in practically no melee. I recall reading that the fan of knive skill is the most melee-ish skill they planned for her.

I recall it too.
In early stages the DH (or the DH-equivalent character at the momment) had a bow tree, a melee tree and a trap/utility tree (when the skill tree still existed). They decide to remove the melee part of the character because they didn't found a way to "mix" melee and ranged very well, so the DH would be just divided between ranged builds and melee builds and they are lookin for a skill system that allows the player to really be able to mix alot of different skills.
I'm relieved by this, for me DH is and should be about ranged warfare with very limited melee abilities if any at all. It wouldn't make sense to try compete with Barb or Monk as they surely would be vastly superior to you.
well some people just like trying unorthodox builds for kicks not because they honestly think it be optimal, i.e. throwing barbarian in d2 or in this case melee dh =)
I think you would be better off with a melee wizard, they specifically designed DH to be ranged, your going to get your @#$$ kicked severely XD
that is why I do not like weapon specific classes, they designed DH to use bows, thats all she is going to be good at, maybe setting traps/grenades which may have bonuses from your weapon? I would assume so
I just hope all of the classes also for flexible builds. I really don't think all the classes should be cookie-cutter over and over again. The more flexible the classes, the deeper and most enjoyable game.
MIGHT be possible, but from her skills so far it looks like she's all about the bow.
Not saying you couldn't make a "lollerskates I'm a melee DH" build, but for the most part it looks like we're going to be stuck with the ranged archetype.
HOWEVER, we don't know what effect runes will have on her skills, so perhaps some of them will be made into melee versions with certain runes? Just something to consider.

I don't think we know of the trees for the DH yet, though I'm sure there are plenty of melee-esk attacks through out her skills.

Thanks Caniroth for the awesome sig!
Even the WD can equipe melee weapons and have melee masteries.
