Hey guys, here is a list of all the build guides I have for patch 2.4 plus a few extras and my summary on DH. My build's foundations are all optimized for solo intermediate players, for beginner, advanced, and group variations please read the text descriptions! If you find these helpful do not forget to give them an upvote, please and thank you! My guides will continue to be polished, updated, and current. If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know! you can contact me either here on dfans or on my Live Stream
Strange not to see an apocalypse/natalya build in the speedfarm section but i assume it gets on par at max with the fast farming UE build.
Nice compilation of builds.
ty, I'm assuming you are talking about danetta/natalya, thing is it ends up pretty weak compared. You have to use RoG in cube or a Nat Ring so the itemization just ends up pretty weak relative. I'd only use this for leeching DB's off a group that didn't mind me running sages or maybe for t7 split bounties
There are so many different posts about what to play as DH in solo or group, one is saying that Mara is the best for group while the other is saying that its the best for solo.
Can someone explain what set I should take and why? and don't get me wrong I know every set will have its potential to go high but which set will I gain the most from.
I would recommend you check out my 2.4 DH summary, I will add it into the OP and link here for you -> 2.4 DH Summary - What's Good
Basically they all have the potential to be useful in almost every situation, the video will give more detailed explanations. But briefly the reason some people suggest Mara for group is the AoE damage potential. Depending on the group comp if the DH is doing single target damage (which is more likely) you would take Shadow Impale and if the DH is responsible for more AoE the Marauder Chakram would be preferred.

I'm afraid that DH could be out of the meta even in 4p - those LoN Pet WDs does huge damage tho.
As you said DH have a potential in almost every situation - both AOE and ST, but Wiz is much better at the point of AOE damage potential and that's sad. Also DH doesn't have some solo progression achievements at the PTR, we were almost at the end with low 80's - but I hope that main reason of this fact is that competitive DH players haven't payed too much attention for gear optimization and rift fishing as other players did.
I guess that everyone here will appreciate it if some competitive players like philos, wudi etc will write their own thoughts\forecast for a DH's in the upcoming season.

Sure I can say somethings about what I think will happen, keep in mind tho meta shifts are not uncommon and what everyone thinks is the best now very well could change at anytime.
I want to clarify a bit on what I said about DH having potential in almost every situation. The exception situation is Rank 1 Teams pushing late season. No one can be sure what the groups will look like at that point. And that is like 1% of the player base anyways so it's effectively irrelevant for most people. Average groups and early season however, DH will be choice in 4p for their easy to build (free even) and extremely potent single target damage.
When I say that DH has potential as AoE dps that is just to say it is viable AoE dps not to say it is optimal, these words mean very different things. All I am saying is average groups won't be severly handicapped by shifting the group comp around... running a DH for AoE and WD for STD would work reasonably well. Likewise dropping the AoE wizard for a Charge Barb would also work reasonably well. Or switching the LoN Doc to a LoN Crus. From what I can tell average groups and exp comps will be reasonably flexible. S5 should not be a repeat of S4 where the one optimal comp was miles ahead of everything else. (that is unless someone comes up with an equivalent static build in 2.4)
The only major exception to this is idea is the ZBarb, shifting the ZBarb out will surely handicap the group
You would trade the Polar Station for Guardian Turret if you find a ammy with TotH?
Chakram Question:
How this build works without a generator?
Only with blood vengeance?
Mara:
shooting stars is preferred for the single target damage potential and physical synergy with seethe and companion both being physical
Yes, if TotH no need polar
Chakram:
Because the ability cost is so cheap and you have 100% uptime on seethe you will maintain hatred without a generator (in group you have globe barb for hatred through blood vengeance)
Is there a Natalya's build that is viable w/o FoK's?
I haven't had a chance to test it, but I'd like a full ranged Natalya's and thinking of using, the Gem that gives more damage the more you are ranged, instead of the Taeguk's...
Been busy with the season starting, just got a bit to check guides now. Few changes on a couple of the guides, specifically I just updated the shadow guide to include the group version in the text description.

I guess u can take a companion/preparation instead and just play it from range but idk if it's worth since DH has much survivability right now and FoK is just additional damage. Was trying fire and cold builds but they were pretty far behind of lightning build.
in the text description of the natalya fok build i explain a fulminator version which is almost exactly like the old 2.3 fulminator version just now taking advantage of the changes to vengeance+dawn, personally I think this might be the highest potential for DH build with enough fishing. Hard to say for sure tho.
Hey what do think about spines of seething hatred for the impale build? Since F&R say ur generater has to hit using Chakram could be better because it's longer in the air?
the 'linger' effect from chakarm doesn't contribute anything because the focus only proc's from the first time it hits and the spines is a waste of a weapon slot that could be used for something stronger (ie: karlie's / dawn / holy point shot / 5stat quiver)
glad to, zeroSP is to thanks, he fixed it like 30minutes after i message him
I expected it to take longer
I want to bring attention to the lightning natalya build, this is the build many top DH's think has the highest potential solo DH clear, namely myself and killstepz at least for softcore fishing high ranks, this build looks the best.
Do you guys think a Fire Marauder Build will be competitive in Season 5 or is physical going to be a much better choice? I'm thinking about using Entangling Shot (Justice is Served) as a generator, Cluster Arrow (Loaded for Bear) as my spender and Sentry (Spitfire Sentry). It's a more solo aproach and with Entangling Shot and the Templar's slow I don't think it will be a problem to activate Cull on the Weak.
Seeing a lot of people asking about rerolling yang's here and there, so I updated my OP with the dmg vs disc calculator for unhallowed. Between that spreadsheet and the damage range reroll calculator you should be able to figure out the best reroll all by yourself!
Have had a lot of people asking about a build guide for the thrill / super human conquest.
So I added the build guide by Shamiina to the OP as I didn't have time to make a guide on the setup and his guide is nearly exactly what I recommend to use. I'm sure most people that frequent dfans have seen his build guide, but I just wanted to include it to the build list here. Thanks to Shamiina for the effort on the guide.
Thanks for your build and guides. I feel comfortable when i play with Marauder Cluster Arrow build. Im 42 years old and my reflexes are not good Mara is easy to play and i cleared GR74 with decent gear. Did you tried the new amu ring set - sorry cant remember the name. Ring is comprass rose and the amu? - and ring of jordan..
Is this viable?
Also im using Bane of Powerfull and it seems working good. Ive problem about stacking Taeguk and changed to BoP.

Thanks, yes Endless Walk is viable depending on the rolls, GR level, and build. I mention it in the text guides for some of the builds where the trade-off is about even, but usually for DH the trade-off is a loss, so it's not generally recommended.
I just wanted to say thank you for all of the time and effort you put into your guides. I haven't played around in the seasons before nor have I played a Demon Hunter much. But thanks to your guides I am doing both now and having a good time. So, thank you!
I updated the OP with the 'new' LoN FoK build (Legacy of Nightmares Fan of Knives) which was optimized by a few Asian players namely, 'GlassPig' during the PTR back in December...
Desolacer has since optimized a version of this build for Hardcore and his guide's foundation is a Hardcore build, but he explains the Softcore version by GlassPig in the text description.
Since I didn't have time or interest to make a guide on the build, I figured I should at least include his guide into my list of builds. I generally do not recommend this build because it is quite inconsistent, very hard to itemize, and imo not fun playstyle. But nevertheless, it is a strong build with very high potential (comparable to N6/M6) and worth considering for experienced players.
heres a link to the video of GlassPig's clear from last year

@psyborg: basically yes. Worth noting that Shadow set makes DH one of the mandatory DPS in best group comps, as the highest single target dps.

Thanks for all the work on the builds.
I think the link to the group shadow build is broken. Might want to look into it.
