I am trying one more time for desperate help. I really want to make my character the best it can be, and I am always struggling
I will admit since the introduction of patch 2.1.2 I die less, but with every attempt from people to help me it always conflicts, one person will say this, someone else will say that, and I am amazed that at the end of the day I have what I have.
I will also admit, being a child of the good old days of the auction house, it was far easier to acquire the items necessary to kick ass and survive, now it is a struggle every time I login to kill a few hours to find out not only what I need to survive, from other people, but to acquire it in the game.
I have never understood a lot of the abbreviations, nor the math/logistics involved in shaving a few points of this, in order to improve that scenarios, and as I previously stated I am amazed I have gotten this far.
Any helpful suggestions as to what I can do (especially when it comes to maybe improving DPS would be greatly appreciated)
Hatred is Maxed out, almost maxed dexterity, CHD is almost maxed, cooldown is maxed, life regen is almost maxed, resist all is maxed,
and RCR is maxed.
DPS is 959,224
Toughness is 7 mil
Dex is 9000
Recovery is 551,182
Still have TNT for gloves but have a FrostBurn but it is shit
Have a bunch of other amulets and rings but only using current for CH boost
Have Boon of the Hoarder only for Getting Gold, only thing I am good at
Have crap loads of stuff in my Stash which I can't tell if they are good or not
(Someone once suggested as part of the new patch that Blackthorne's Battlegear or The Shadow's Mantle would be good but I have no idea, I am comfortable with the Marauder 6 set even with the new nerfed Demon Hunters)
Gear looks pretty solid, once u get a good pair of Frostburns use those instead. Farm for a better RoRG preferably one with a socket on it already so you can roll off a stat for 50% CHD or 6% CHC. Try to get a Cold Stone of Jordan, preferably one with 40%-50% CHD already on it so you can roll off the Dexterity for a socket. Lastly, try to get an immunity amulet or an amulet with Dexterity, 10% CHC, 100% CHD, and a socket - or - 20% Cold Damage, 10% CHC, 100% CHD (Of course you have to be really lucky to get an amulet rolled like this So try to get as close to that as you can). Hope this helps; Good luck and have fun.
Edit: Just thought I'd mention this.. Sheet DPS isn't everything, just keep that in mind. Even though you "lose damage" from using a Stone of Jordan, you actually gain a substantial amount of DPS.
Use marauders gloves and instead swap out your helm for the Pride's Fall helm. When I made the switch, my killing power went up drastically. If you are pretty good about avoiding incoming damage, you'll benefit crazy amounts from it. You might not see your sheet dps go up, but everyone knows that isn't really the tell all anyways.
You can get them from Act 3 caches (so fairly easy to obtain). Happy farming!
you kind of have the fundamentals for a great demon hunter but when i checked the element damage i noticed what went wrong...
Get bracers with element damage 20% (20% boost in damage?! WHAT THATS INSANE!)
Get rid of the TnT gloves... with the new marauder set-up you either want to change it to marauders gloves so you can switch out to the helm from bounties in act 3 or get frostburns (again a boost in element dmg! thats is also very nice).
Or you can switch to fire damage... in your case the switch does not have a huge impact since your gear does not have much (if at all) +% cold dmg. When you switch to fire damage you might want to get marauders gloves + cindercoat (which gives you fire spell cost reduction and +% fire damage!)
so % elemental damage is realy importand... you can get it on rings, for example stone of jordan. Stone of jordan also gives 30% increased damage to elites + 20% element damage (which i suggest you keep on it). which is a 50% damage boost. On your character sheet it looks like you do less damage but that is a LIE!
also you can get it on amulets, but I suggest you get a nice hellfire amulet with 8+% chc and 80%+ chd.
and as i said earlier bracers can have 20% element damage.
while our normal damage is just 300k apart (in favor of me) our element damage is nearly 1.000.000 points apart and the damage against elites nearly 2.000.000 points.
Keep in mind that sometimes the stats increase given in diablo 3 seem to be better but the items do not show all the "hidden" damage of certain items (like element damage, elite damage, sentry damage).
tip for the bracers is reroll +7 attack speed to the element damage ( quick fix and huge boost)
get a rorg with crit hit and a soj with the element of your choice.
after that you will feel the difference.

craft a reapers wraps.
craft a better weapon until luck finds one for you.
You might consider using Cindercoat with a fire based build or else get a Pride's Fall from act3 bounty cache as an off-set item.
