Hey I got 3 amulets (I can provide pics if needed) with more or less same chd and %eldmg. I decided to go for "trifecta" and I rolled %eldmg over str into one of those and was expecting to see a big increase in numbers (over the one with only str -chd) but I only saw 1-2m crits top. On the other side the third amulet with both str and %eldmg (that lacks chc) it provides up to 10m more from crits.
So whats exactly is going on? Should we not remove the str from amulets? Is there a "minimum" number for str that we must have or some sort of diminishing returns or something?
The more elemental damage you have, the less in terms of percent dps gain it gives. The same goes for str. For example if you have 100 str and add 100 str than there is net 100% increase in your damage, but if you have 1000 str than 100 str gives you only 10% dps.
As for the elemental, if you have 0% elemental damage additional 20% nets you 20% increased damage. If you have 100% elemental damage than additional 20% damage nets you around 10% increased damage.
But in high end gear you will end up with around 10 000str and 20% elemental damage (bracer). 750str from neck will net you around 7.5% of your total dps where having 20% elemental damage will increase your dps for around 16.6%. So basically 16.6% is worth more than 7.5%.
For the crusader str is woth a bit more because of the finery passive, but still having elemental damage instead of str is a dps gain.
You can check this dps on the profile card as well (if you go to the details you can see your total elemental dps).
But remember, that attack speed increase your card dps but for example for condemn build its a useless stat.
As for the crits you can see on mobs, it alwways depends if it is an elite or the normal trash (%elite damage) and it mainly depends on your crit damage with a bit of elemental damage, str and weapon damage.
I have tested it and doublechecked. With 1.0 aps(furnance) and with 2.0 aps (1handed weapon with fervor) i got the same number of condemns per minute. So as mentioned before, attack speed is just a fake sheet dps for condemns crusader (it only affects you slash/smite or other generator which is probably less than 10% of your total dps, it only matters on single target dps guardian when you have the smite gem). In conclusion 10% attack speed gain can give you like 3% single target dps(including higher wrath gen) and probably less than 1% in aoe situation for condemn crusader.
