The funny thing that I've logged before as Lightning Hammers Crusader, but luckily found Foote, so I was probably in game running blessed shield build when you checked me Nevertheless, thanks a lot for advice - I've tried it and DO FEEL the difference. The idea of putting Comdemn (prefer Vacuum) and Provoke+HF was especially nice. The latter was especially enjoyed by me as Hammerdin too. So much appreciated for great feedback on the build aspect!
As for gear suggestions, I have 4 questions:
1) Ring Choice.I do have some class desired rings like SoJ and RoRG. I'm not sure if RoRG is worth equipping right now. I don't feel the necessity of +20% health bonus from Asheara. However, once I find a piece of Akkhan or Blackthorne boots, this might be a good option. But now I think I'd rather keep it in stash and try to reroll SoJ from lightning (used it for hammers) to holy damage. What do you think? Is it worth spending gems and souls?Rerolled 17% holy.
2) Helm Affix. Thanks for tips on reforges - that day I was working on the exact stats as you mentioned, needed souls. In an attempt to get Crit on Visage, I got 15% blessed shield damage. Currently I sit at 43,5% CHC and +331% CHD in game. Am I right thinking that top-rolled blessed shield damage might be better option here?
3) Is Holy Cause still good for Blessed shield build? Or Towering Shield is the way to go (as with 2.0.5 change)?
4) Suggestions for Kadala shards? Boots?http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Doomtrain-2905/hero/38955229
The last but not the least. I really want to appreciate the level of feedback we can get in Crusader threads on the forums. Such guys as you, Silvach, Kapsu, MannerCookieand many others get lots and lots of various checking requests - some have everything fundamentally wrong build and gear-wise, some require really thorough and accurate gear tuning and useful advice of most competent crusaders, but it's exactly you guys on Crusaders forum who are really responsive and help to develop and enhance the interest to the class. The one that's among hardest to transfer to T6, but by far the most entertaining and fun to play imho. Great thanks for this to all the contributors!
What would you guys reroll on the Fate of the Fell? In my opinion there are only 2 options:
a) Reroll Wrath regen into CDR
Leave Wrath regen and try to roll max holy damage (for holy cause)
I could compensate for the 10% CDR in my rings - meaning, I could reroll my 2nd ring into CDR instead of 50% crit damage.
So I guess I would trade 50% crit damage 2% CDR (rings can only roll 8% instead of 10% on weapon) vs. 4 wrath regen, holy damage, about 200 more damage and the use of holy cause
trying out a new build using Smite and Armor of the Kind Regent with Darklight and Fist of the Heavens with the Retribution rune, the aoe damage is feeling really nice right now
Cold is pretty much useless on crusader, so i was thinking roll cold into CHD, i lose 18% holy dmg (i play blessed shield with 1 hand grynfoot) but i gain atk speed some lits strengh and the arcane immunity..
@spiritvs That is a tough call, the Arcane immunity is very nice but i understand the Cold vs Holy. I personally think the Immunity is worth it though.
I am trying out a few things and am loving my current build. Any opinions on my Crusader?
I'm new to the forums and thought this one looked very informative and helpful!
I need some advice on where to go from here, as I seem to be lacking direction on how to make my Crusader T5-6 viable (currently comfortably doing public T3 runs and can solo T4 by myself).
Any tips are appreciated! You can view my character at:
Been banging my head against the wall trying to find a good synergy of gear for my fire build. I have a Jekangbord and Defender of Westmarch in my inventory along with a crappy piro mirella. In my experience so far, Shield Bash hits the hardest since 2.0.5 and it's almost impossible to get blessed shield to be efficient without having Gyrfalcon's. Using Piro Mirella is such a huge drop in toughness as opposed to using my stormshield as well.
Thoughts? I can do T4, but not smoothly at all. I'd like to be able to just barrel through T4 like I am T3. Not quite sure what I am needing most (Besides a RoRG)
Hello fellow crusaders, any advice that you can give on my build/set up ? I'm currently breezing through t3 and t4 seems kind of slow. But I feel looking at my stats that I should be doing at least t5. I'm still working on my Akkarat set, only 3 pieces so far. But the rolls aren't that great and it's a 100k+ damage decrease. Though I'm not sure if I'm going by that number too religiously. Help is appreciated!
Gamble for shields until you get something you like, you desperately need an upgrade there. Even a rare Crusader shield with Wrath regen or 15% Fist damage will far outperform yours, as long as it has Str and 10% crit.
After that, gamble for weapons. There are many options, if you prefer 1h, stick to those, or 2h, but either have great possible upgrades for you.
Try getting a 2nd socket on those pants.
Try making Aughild's head + bracers and maybe Born's shoulders + chests with decent rolls and farm bounties for a Ring of Royal Grandeur. The set boni should boost you significantly.
currently my aoe dmg is not a problem with the shield throw build, but i find single target dmg is a little low and im relying on just the fist of heaven, any suggestion on what could be changed?
Why are you running Fist of the Heavens AND Blessed Shield, but are using Blunt passive, which buffs Blessed Hammer?
Settle for either Fist or Shield, switch out Blut for Finery or Holy Cause.
Replace the spender you're cutting with a cooldown - currently without a Fate of the Fell or Blade of Prophecy I'd recommend Falling Sword, it's a pretty reliable nuke. Change Akarat's to the Firestarter rune, gives you tons of free damage and will improve your single target dps greatly while active.
Personally, I don't use Steed Charge as I feel it's a wasted cooldown slot. I'd rather run two cooldowns, such as Heaven's Fury + Falling Sword or Condemn, along with Akarat's.
Here's my profile. Again I'm stuck in limbo between two builds . I did have a piro drop for me and I have scorn sitting in my bank. Not sure which way i should go. I can hang in t3 and solo t2. Thanks!

Hmmm, for generator will justice still be good? as i take blunt is for justice.
Fist i only use as i find it useful for both aoe or single target whereby nowadays i find heaven's fury a little low
Will try out falling sword and maybe take out steed charge for other

You're using another Wrath-consuming spender for little to no extra gain though, instead of a cooldown that would come for free and increase your damage/time output so much more. In general, you don't want to use more than one spender, there's not much point and it's not efficient. If you lack single or AoE target damage with your preferred spender, select your cooldowns around that fact.
You shouldn't focus your build around a builder like Justice, you're wasting a passive. Optimally in late game you want builds that don't use stuff like Justice at all and only spam the most powerful attacks, but even in early stages you want to be using Justice only when you actually run out of Wrath.
2 days as a sader (having a blast) i would like helpon progression ..what T-lvl can i play - what should i focus on next ?
Is my build right, sometime i feel i would like better single target dps (in game im at 900 000) Any ideas on build 2.0.5 does not need to be blessed sheild.
I know 1 ring is bad and that i should get another weapon ..but nothing drops ..so far.
You have two options right now to optimize your build:
1. Switch to a Fire build. You have 18% Fire, 17% Holy bonus on gear. I would recommend giving Fire a try with Akarat's Champion - Firestarter, it's a great cooldown and significantly increases your single and AoE dps while active. Try using Punish - Roar with Blessed Shield - Combust. Drop Judgement, you don't need the crit boost with 45% sheet crit. Replace it with Condemn - Reciprocate (fire) or Falling Sword - Superheated for some more "oomph".
For elite packs, Falling Sword into them - the little whirlpool of swords from Flurry will CC them and they will be "knocked back". Hit them with Condemn then to finish them off, it will hit like a truck.
Obviously try to get either more %fire or % holy gear either way.

Here's my character:

just a quick question about Razor Strop. does it benefit from +% fire skills from cindercoat and magefists?

Something like this:
http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/crusader#aShifQ!eYaS!aZacba
2. Optimise your holy build - you are using Strongarm bracers, they give you a significant DPS boost against knocked back targets.
Try this on for size:
