I have a number of tidbits I've collected since ROS launch that many newer player seem not to realize or know. What are the things that you think that any new player should know? I'd like to make a FAQ / Instructional video series to help inform the public and reduce the amount of repeated topics. Please only post new original information. For instance if you see someone in the thread post that elemental % modifies skills elemental dmg and not weapon's elemental dmg output, please do not repost the same information. This will make compiling it much easier. I'm going to plan on doing a series of informational videos and I'd like each one to be relatively focused so I'd like to compile a good deal of information before deciding how to organize the information. As I create the videos and compile them into a series I will update and post them in this thread. Things to think about are how stats work, how items work, tips and tricks you've found in the game, leveling secrets, spec advice, etc. Alright let's get this rolling and grow as a community!
I think a good point to make is that any spec that is decently thought out will work for Torment 1 - 4 and it's really a matter of gearing.
So play how you like, and enjoy it!
If you want to push for T5-6 you will probably be pigeonholed into highly optimized builds and gear sets, but that is both natural and expected.
Also no matter what spec you are (for the most part) if you look out for gear with +strength, all resist, crit chance, and crit damage - you'll do OK T1-4.
Seeing information about how to evaluate your gear (dps/mitigation/HP/healing) would be good. This could flow into heerobya's idea of what will work for the different T levels.
Oh, the most basic of advice ever for new Crusaders -
Use Heavenly Strength and a 2H + Shield.
Other basic gearing/stat info... Armor is your friend! Strength gives damage + armor, but never neglect +armor on gear either
Passives:
Wrathful is one of our best ways to stay alive
You can swap Wrathful for Renewal if you have ~60% or so block chance (gear + spec) but it is a lot more effective when playing Solo because in groups you won't always have the aggro
Active Skills:
Provoke- Charged Up is one of the best skills we have for almost any build - Crusaders have Wrath problems (for the most part) and Provoke-Charged up is like having two pools of Wrath with the 2nd pool also doing 50% additional damage!
Also on Laws- (saw this from someone else on these forums, great advice!) Use the +all resists Law when you are pushing new difficulty levels, but once it feels comfortable/you gear up switch to Valor and use either Critical or -50% wrath usage Rune for faster kills/farming

Can you link me to this discussion? I would like to read about it so that I can include this sort of information in the video and get this community member involved as well.
Why Vita is so much worse than Armor/All Ress/LoH/Life per Second/Life per Resource.
I'm aware of the thought process for why vit. is worse than all res and armor however less so than the life gain ones. Is this because the higher the vit pool the less effective the latter is? I'd also argue that if you are stacking vit it could work with some specialized builds that work with holy cause that heal 1 percent of your total health, if you're doing that though you want to balance with all resist and armor to my knowledge. Corrections if I'm wrong are appreciated.
Yeah, if you have % of max life healing, vit is fine. However, with life on hit, life per second, etc. You want your life to count for more (i.e. each hit point absorbs more damage with higher all res and armor). This makes your healing much more effective.
Another thing to mention is that your thorns damage, though it may look like shit, is actually multiplied by 0.25% of your main stat. For instance, if you have ~8000 main stat, every 1000 thorns damage will actually do 1000*8000*.0025 = 20000 damage. If you look at just your thorns damage on gear, there seems to be no way that it would be viable. I have no idea why blizzard hides this calculation. There is absolutely no way anyone would guess that this is how it works just by looking at tooltips in game. Oh, and I also believe that thorns can crit.
Good info about the thorns damage, and I can confirm that indeed it can crit and crit big adding extra value onto crit dmg for a thorns build. I'd add that thorns gains additional value with some legendaries such as Vo'Toyias Spiker, Invoker set, and Hack. Does anyone know of any other legendary items that benefit from thorns? Keep other non thorns information coming as well :).
