Last night I found the odyns son I'm wearing, prior to that I was using this sword, I am trying to figure out which one is "actually" better for dps... I feel like it's odyns but sheet is over 100k difference.
Based upon the fulminator's dmg range (salaria and fulminator are both swords, and should display similar weapon dmg range), I would expect that the odyn is about even with the salaria (both should display around 1300-1800), with a couple of exceptions.
Odyn lacks a str stat, so this may result in dmg loss (tooltip indicates that salaria should provide 642% higher base dmg - this seems inaccurate). I have previously been informed of WW AS breakpoints, which would affect dmg output, if use of mace placed you 1 tier lower, this may result in a hefty loss of dmg on WW.
As for Odyn's additional benefits, it boosts lightning %, this should affect fulminator's, thundergod's and Odyn's proc dmg. If all 3 items are affected by the bonus, this should provide a significant dmg boost. The final change comes from 1 of your passives. Using a sword (salaria) has increased your dmg by 8%, while switching to a mace (odyn) has reduced your dmg by 8%, and instead boosted your crit chance by 5%.
Overall I expect the odyn should provide higher dmg for your current build. Sheet dmg should NEVER be relied on when using any kind of elemental or skill bonus, or for that matter, anything with a legendary affix. It is essentially worthless to anyone lvl 70 or above. It does however provide a decent estimate for newer players who are still learning about game mechanics (allows for easy comparisons between blue/yellow items, and "fake legendaries").
