I was pleased to find the full Earth set a couple of weeks ago but I seem to be having problems generating much damage. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Did you try Hammer of the Ancients orseismic slam instead of whirlwind? Also do act 1 bounties (split bounties would be best) till you get a Royal ring. When you do, craftAughild's shoulders and bracers. I'd say getting the ring and crafting the 2 items is prio for you atm.

At the moment I'm in the process of using the mystic on my amulet (when I can afford it). Should I go for crit dmg or +% fire skill damage?

Curse PremiumIf you haven't rerolled the Burning Axe then try to reroll the dmg to CDR (it's very hard to but it is possible).
Keep rerolling Lut Socks for AR.
Replace the belt with nearly anything else, Harrington, Cassius, Chilanik, w/e you choose make sure it has str/vit/ar and preferably %life.
Nemesis and Julia's are not items you should main equip, just swap them on when needed unless you really don't have anything better.
Avoid attack speed, it does nothing for quakes. Also avoid RCR because leap is free, your other cd's are free, everything that matters is free.
