After collecting every barbarian set gear in every slot and testing out various builds, I have finally decided on my favourite build for T6.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVq_...ature=youtu.be
Here it is guys, not the fastest clearing build, but hey I prefer being constantly on full hp / fury with extremely low chance to die rather then playing my leapquake build where i still die to elites in T6 who have crazy affixes (E.g frozen / arcane / fire chains)
This is for people who like to facetank and just spam 1 to 2 buttons and clear T6 with ease - although slightly slower.
Basically how it works is Spending fury to get back HP / making sure you have enough fury to spam via COTA (fury gen rune) and reapers wraps / superstition. Obviously you need enough toughness to stand in plague / orbit / poison etc for superstition fury gen to work.
In the video you can see instances where running into plague is better dps as I get more fury generation from superstition passive. Dmg is negligible as whatever dmg I take I get back from spamming SS and bloodthirst passive healing me
WHY LIGHTNING ?!
because I can spam more seismic slam due to reduced cost which = higher dps overall compared to when I go full fire + i love TF proc =)
I have tried doing T6 same build with both lightning / fire spec and Lightning somehow feels less clunky, Fire build I spend more time trying to get fury and the fire run for weapon throw sucks for dmg. Lightning build I get to spam seismic slam at a much higher uptime and even when I do have to weapon throw for fury, it hits for a much harder.
Perhaps when I get one more unity ring I can go more offensive fire build with a 20% cindercoat / trifecta magefist that I have in stash along with a nice 2100+ dps 19% fire sankis and devastator.
I have tried the build with the 4 pc raekors bonus as well (swapping reapers wraps for aughild bracers and using raekors shoulders) and that would give me 500 more strength, but less fury generation. But either way its not that much difference.
geeze... 17mil toughness? i'm sure you can survive pretty much everything, but you must feel like you're swinging a wet noodle in T6. Otherwise, yes, this is a great build, i use a slightly modified version of it that is far more offensive. sprint in place of warcry, fire ss rune, unforgiven, rampage, and bloodshed zerker rage. When i throw a seismic slam at a large group of mobs, bloodshed paired with the high dmg of the fire rune tears them apart. unforgiven also makes a pretty big difference in speed due to being able to sprint more often, and in combat of course more siesmic slams. For weaponthrow, i switch back and forth between the cleave one and the higher fury one based on torment level. Higher torment, i go for fury one since it's damage is less effective on higher torment.
Granted, in my current gear my toughness is only 6.4mil. i can't comfortably do T6 with such low toughness, but T5 is a breeze due to how fast things die.
Have your COTA tank your mobs. Stay in the back and tickle the mobs for negligible damage. Hold a button for 30 to 40 seconds. Loot mobs and move on.
I can see this being viable for Hardcore but it takes you way too long to kill stuff on Softcore, where dying is just a nuisance.
Sorry. :|
OK im not sure if you cant read or you are just too dense and going "NEEDS MOAR DPS LUL" but here is the bolded and underlined part for you. Nobody is saying this is the best build.. this is a guide to FACETANK T6, in case you didnt know what it means. This is not a guide to CLEAR T6 in the fastest time possible with a few deaths (minor nuisance according to you).

This build is for FACETANKING with extremely low chance of dying while still doing decent dmg. Im not sure how you would consider SS hits like "wet noodles" when its ~18m dmg per slam which is pretty much every second. Sure you can go fire and leap 3 times for 30-40m ticks. then what do you do in the 6-8 sec CD (depending on your CDR).
Some simple theorycraft (no spender leapquake build vs FACETANK build) :
you leap 3 times and do ~35m tick on avg for 8 secs of earthquake. thats 35m X 8 = 280m dmg, then you wait ~7 secs for leap to come off CD. Considering leap animation takes ~2 secs (lut socks trigger time) thats 280m dmg over ~9 seconds (leap animation time + cd time)
Using SS i do 18m / second. Over 9 secs i do 18m X 9 = 162m dmg. Sure it is less then leapquake, but hey even if the mobs run im still dmging them. I much prefer this over leaping 3 times and the mob running off after the leap stun wears off. then Im doing 0 dps for the next 6 secs (approx) or hitting like an even wetter noodle with bash (or whatever other generator).
Too many barbs are caught up with the earthquake build being the ENDGAME build that they are so quick to dismiss any other build just cos it doesnt match up to the dps output of leapquake (without considering that having 100% dps uptime is far more valuable then putting out max dmg but having a few deaths in between) Each rez takes 5 seconds. Too many videos I see show barbs hp dropping to uncomfortable levels where they would definitely die quite abit in their runs, but just because they happen to show the video of that SPECIFIC run where things went well / crowded rifts / easy affix elites. Everyone thinks they should all go that spec.
If you like doing massive dps and risking dying occasionally, go ahead. This build is for people who DO NOT LIKE DYING and still want to do T6 in ~15-20 mins.
Here is a build that works for whatever Rift / whatever elite affix / whatever RIFT guardian. But hey, it kills slower then leapquake, so it must be bad.
Noone here has dismissed your build because earthquake is better, we dismissed your build because the dps is ridiculously low for doing T6. Yes, this build is capable of putting out much better dps numbers than what you're doing now by simply adding more elemental and elite dmg. Add soj, odyn son, sunkeeper, and tgods and you'll be going in the right direction. By going lightning, you'll have a lot more control due to the stuns. It's a solid build, you just don't quite have the gear to make it shine yet.
Side-note, If you wanted the build to be super tanky, why did you take the physical cota rune vs the lightning one?
Currently farm T6 no prob w/o unity and it does well in groups.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/ZombieKnight-1718/hero/16838 -- E.Q gets old but it just does it faster than any, I've even played around with boulder toss build which is fun but not faster, still I'll ocassionally play it (solo play only). Boulder Toss just doesn't work in group games due to mob HP scaling with other players in-game. Thunderstrike hota+Raekor needs unity period so i don't use it because i'm more focused on group play.
My EQs when stacked can crit up to 120mil+ ticks so the damage is fine. ( still need to better the EQ helm w/ an open socket since i messed it up)
Edit: Really hope the class changes make other specs viable in the next patch..

All they'd have to do is nerf earthquake so it didn't outshine other builds by so much. there's plenty of viable builds out there fully capable of T6, given the right gear.

well if people could read... this build is not ALL about the DPS its about doing T6 with almost no chance of dying while still clearing at a decent speed. why I didnt go the lightning rune is cos I can already facetank stuff, the rest is to help me keep clear times as fast as possible while maintainign this level of tankiness.
Sure I could go full lightning. I have a nice tgods / sunkeeper / Soh etc. then id be as squishy as an EQ barb again. Then id just go eq then, why bother with lightning

Yes im equipping a unity ring, but its only for the crit / CHD / elite dmg. I do not have a 2nd unity for my follower yet.
