I have collected some more +cold damage items, atm for a total of +90% cold damage. The following are my questions/thoughts:
1.Altough both rings: RoRG and SoJ are very nice, they both dont have chc on them. I am wondering if on the RoRG i should replace the CHD for CHC. What do u think?
2. Seismic slam: permafrost is awesome for my build, but its very expensive. Even though i have points in resource cost reduction i always end up hitting mobs with white damage until i can leap again. I like Ignore pain to keep me alive and all my passive help me deal more damage. So yeah i dont know, has any one a clever idea what i can tweak in order to still do lots of dps, die less and keep fury up?
Another option would be to get more cool-down reduction. This would be at the expense of my +life gem, but then again when i can leap more often, i have more fury and and mobs stay frozen more, yeah? So that would be worth a try i think.
3. The secondary stat from azurewrath where u freeze mobs from hitting them, does that proc from seismic slam? Just asking since i am not hitting them with me actual weapons like when using bash of frenzy...
1) Just balance out 10:1 Crit Dmg and Crit (500 CD, 50 CC) Change the best you can. You'll get some crit change from your abilities, a little more weight on CD is fine.
2) This is wear ice starts to falter. Seismic Slam is a very good ability, but its 10 fury more than HotA. Are you maxing your Fury with paragon? A bigger Fury pool (200) goes a long way to making Seismic a reality. You could add IK Chest, Belt, and Gloves if you have the Earth Shoulders. You could also run Unforgiven as a passive (especially if you use IK with Earth set).
3) Yes, it should proc the weapon without issue.
Overall, you're doing fine. Just have to accept that Cold is going to be "less efficient" than Fire until Blizzard balances things out.
I say swap your battlecry or battlerage for a cold avalanche.
If you get the rotation right you will never run out of fury, the amount of fury you dump makes ur avalanche cd faster. you should try it out! (avalanche - seismic slam - jump - seismic slam - jump -seismic sam - jump - seismic slam - earthquake - dump all on seismic slam - back to avalanche). Yes you can fill in a seismic slam between jump it takes practice
Seismic Slam and Earth Quake are already massive AOE, i think you should change battle cry - bloodshed to marauder.
I agree with ^, just maintain a 10:1 ration on chd and cc. Have you came across a Rimeheart? I wonder how that works with cold set.

I just read the changes they will be making to barbs. Its a big improvement for an Ice Barb like me:
FrenzySidearm: Each strike has a 25% chance to throw a piercing axe at a nearby enemy that deals 130% weapon damageas Coldto all enemies in its path./ Frenzy's damage turns into Cold.(Damage element now specified)
Seismic slam:Permafrost: Create a sheet of frost that deals 755% weapon damage as Cold and Slows enemies by 60% for[/s]1 second. (Up from 710%, slow down from 2 seconds)
WW:Best Served Cold: Increase your Critical Hit Chance by 8% for 6 seconds after using Revenge. / Revenge's damage turns into Cold.(Damage element now specified)
They fixed the fury gain from quake leap, i guess my rotation doesn't work as well anymore. Will do some testing tonight when I get off work
You mean they nerfed this entire build? I even made a female barb (although i really don't like playing with her) She has been made just as slow as the male now. Leaping now doesn't generate fury anymore, so you will need to spend a lot of time to generate fury and standing still a lot more. Unfortunately no cold damage within weapon throw..
They didnt nerf this entire build. Here's the way I look at this patch.
They buffed seismic slam dmg, espcially for permafrsot, and sesimic slam can hit through walls, which makes seismic slam a great skill to use now.
But before this patch, EQ barb can generate 30 fury on top of 15 from leap due to the 4piece eq set bonus and earthen might passive, this has been fixed so that only earth quake procs earthen might passive, not from leap. This means you wont be able to spam as much seismic slam as you previously could and you may need to have a fury generator skill now =(
I need to test it out when I go home tonight
