The weapons added elemental or black damage actually means nothing when it comes to the elemental damage buffs. All it does is add more base damage to your weapon. In regards to how the elemental buffs work, those are strictly skill based. So if I have a bow adding poison damage, and I use a fire skill like Loaded for Bear, everything is now fire damage and the skill gets the buff from lets say an Andy Visage with fire damage on it.
Basically if you are using a fire skill, the "damage type" on your weapon can be anything. If you have items buffing % fire damage, simply use fire skills and you will get the buff. Skills 100% determine the "element" of your attacks.
I think it would add another element of customization if the element on the weapon was considered on +element damage stuff.
If I have 1500-1800 Holy damage and I'm using +10% holy bracers.. I would like to have 1650-1980 Holy damage.. (standing by for flame on my shitty maths)
Since the reverse is true (physical skills benefit less from +physical damage if you're using an elemental weapon) I believe if you're using a holy weapon and then use a physical skill, that skill will benefit from +holy damage (to a lesser extend than normal)
other than physical skills, the the element of the weapon does not matter

Yeah, that would be awesome wouldnt it, who would complain about more DPS, but that would add another level of frustration when it came to Drops. Lets say your a fire DH, and the most epic Bow drops with dex, cold damage, and no socket and you wanna re-roll one of the lousy stats for a socket, well, now your bow sucks because it has cold damage instead of fire damage.
Also not to mention there is already a +% damage mod that rolls on weapons (which is currently bugged not to affect elemental damage which they are fixing). So being that, if it worked as intended, there is already a possible % buff to damage on weapons I highly doubt they would implement the other buffs from items to apply to weapon damage.

I think this is (or was) only true for "physical" skills that don't say "as physical" anywhere in their description:
For example, all Rend runes say "% weapon damage as physical", so they convert all of your attack damage to physical, and benefit wholly from +% physical skill damage.
However, un-runed Bash says "% weapon damage" only, so it used to get a mix of your +% physical damage and whatever element was on your weapon. I don't know if this is still the case in the most recent patch, there was a note a few fixes ago about changing the way +% elemental skill damage works.
Not sure how this is related to Barb to be in these particular forums. Before moving it (to GD or Theorycrafting), maybe you wanna give your perspective on why you posted here?

one weapon have + fire dmg and one have just + dmg. How this + dmg works?
Elemental dmg is adding to base fire dmg x skill dmg ? or what. And how normal + dmg is working when i'm using lightning skill?
ps. dont look at build, its fresh 70lvl and i'm thinking now witch build will fit for me:)
