So a lot of us are going for similar items - RoRG, Andariel's, Cindercoat, etc., but it seems like everybody is using a different belt. I'm wondering - is there something people are considering BiS or is this a "use-what-you-can-get" slot?
I had a Sebor's but the proc felt really weak. I just recently switched it out for a Razor Strop which I am getting a kick out of. I've seen it crit for up to 4mil (I guess it benefits from +fire damage?) which makes me want to try Swords to Ploughshares with it. I do also have a Thundergod's sitting in the stash waiting for the rest of my lightning set.
I have heard people talk about Harrington, but to me it sounds like a lot of maintenance and wouldn't be up much of the time.
Don't have a Harrington's or level 70 WH yet, would love to try them. I swap between Goldwrap (the toughness boost is insane!) and Blackthorne's (for set bonus). For lightning obviously Thundergod's Vigor. I crafted a decent Fleeting Strap but I think completing a set bonus or gaining some nice effect is better than a measly 7% IAS, at least for me.
Oooh Harrington would apply to CotA pets right? Like you could just do a cheerleader spec and then spend your time shouting and running around and opening containers while they lay waste?
Clearly TGV for my WW barb. But before one of those dropped I was using a perfect String of Ears with 30% melee dmg reduction. I'm considering switching back to the SoE for higher level torment farming since some elite packs (im looking at you giant mallet lords of hell) just pummel the hell out of me-even with armor bonus skills in place.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Chilanik's Chain yet. It's absolutely awesome. Found one the second my barb dinged 61, gave it to Jamoose as he plays barb more often and we ran speed T1 rifts for a week with it - insanely fast!
I've been running a Raekor's build and I love String of Ears for actually letting me survive in huge clumps of monsters. Harrington is incredibly powerful on my pet WD, and I have a fleeting strap for when I feel like running a pet build for my barb. Chilanik's Chain gets popped on when I'm running normal, but I only have a lvl60 one, so that's right out most of the time.
It seems like there's actually a lot of build choice for this one, instead of one clear BiS, which is really nice. I mean, it would be nicer if 90% of my belt drops weren't Angel Hair Braids, but.
I am using string of ears atm with 25% melee reduction.
Also have a belt that has 6% AS
Used lamentation for quite a while as well.
This would actually be awesome for me because physical damage seems to be what kills me at T3+. I feel fairly well protected from elemental damage, especially with Mara's I can just stand in any poison (including the purple stuff in Act 5 swamp) and plaguebearers become healbots. High torment mallet lords can 2-shot me though
Simply because the lower your CC, the lower the value of CHD. 8%->Elites will always be 8%->Elites. It'll work out less at very high crit chances, but I never really end up above 50% CC where they probably (i cba with the maths) even out.
I think it depends on the amount not only of critical hit chance you have, but also the amount of existing critical damage as well as the amount of elite damage you have:
If you have 50% crit, 422% damage, and 0% elite damage:
Witching Hour adds up to (1 + 0.5 * 4.72) / (1 + 0.5 * 4.22) = 3.36/3.11 ~= 8% damage
Hellcat Waisteguard adds up to 1.08/1 = 8% damage
So in this case, Hellcat is about equal to Witching Hour.
If you add more critical hit damage from other gear or subtract some critical chance, Hellcat will technically be more damage against elites.
If you already have elite damage from SoJ, Unity, or Sun Keeper, the value of the Hellcat Waistguard will diminish.

What do you do with your belt slot?

And may the odds be ever in your favour.
